The worst song on Smile is better than the best song on 143

I've been an obsessed Smule hater since the day it leaked and it's an order of magnitude better than 143

 

I can't believe it was possible to create an album worse than Smile. But she did it… She surpassed herself… somehow

Smile has that first song that i loved the two times i have listened to that album. I don't remember the name tho. So Smile.

Tbh I think people are too hard on both albums. Both are better than witness. 

A dance-pop album made by a bunch of rapists. What an aesthetic.

as a casual fan, witness had infinitely more interesting sounds than either of her most recent projects.

I think if these songs were made by Max Martin people would be so hard on her. It's Luke involvement that instantly makes them hate it. I think it's generic and a lil bland but eh it's fun pop.

tbh smile is a pretty solid pop album (6.5-ish i would say), 143 feels weaker but hard to say on day one

I would argue 143 is more cohesive,

 

but it is I'm afraid... cohesively worse than smile

Tucked alone shits on 143 in its entirety...

I wasn't crazy on Smile but it is so much better than 143.  It has a couple of really great songs (Never Really Over, Harleys In Hawaii), she had things to say, and there is at least has some personality and emotion in places.  143 is so....hollow.

Listened to 143 twice, now listening to Smile.

 

Smile is actually a great album and it's truly underrated. Lots of great cuts, and seems like an authentic Katy album. 143 is so lifeless.

Haven't listened to 143 yet but Smile has my fave Katy song of all time (Cry About it Later) so it's gonna be a tough battle.
