The Striptease video 😭😭😭 its stunning in its 'simplicity'

Ray of Light comparisons are always being thrown out but she's really in her early Bjork/ROL bag omg. I'm literally ascending with each song.

 

Girl Feels Good and Striptease are INCREDIBLE. I wish they were longer. I actually need extended versions of the entire album immediately.

 

Childlike Things is super fun but it's definitely the weakest moment for me after a few listens and not only because of the North West feature. A cute lil 7/10 in a sea of 11/10s but the album would have a been a killer 10-track run without it.

 

She does deserve some of the lashings though. Should have gotten a Japanese artist or something, the Jesus line is also very🙄 

I literally can't help but keep feeling like she's gonna get hit by one of those cars in the STRIPTEASE vid 

 

but she's just soo captivating and mesmerizing to watch!

well it kind of confirms she's buddy buddy with Kanye and/or Kim... which is very disappointing and reflective of who she is as a person. Idk, just got no room left for celebs/upper class public figures who put on a liberal, queer, etc. facade just to be buddying up with really evil people behind closed doors.

I've got some bad news for you— pretty much all of our faves buddy up with really evil people behind closed doors. For me, it's not even worth the mental energy of feeling affronted by it, just save yourself the disappointment. 

 

As long as Twigs continues to foster a safe space for queer folks, I guess she can continue to associate with **** people behind closed doors. The impact of her representation of queer art is far greater than the implications of a behind-closed-doors friendship with Kanye/Kim. 

 

I'm also not going to tell you how to live your life or to compromise your own moral lines in the sand either.

Great album.  Personal favorites are Childlike Figures,  Striptease, Perfect Stranger,  Girl Feels Good,  and the title track.

Since the boyzzz leaked "Girl Feels Good" months ago from FIFA and the subsequent error of subsisting on low qual scraps on Soundcloud and sketch .net () websites, to hear it in high quality amidst all of the glory, I just --  

Twigs has put on Bravo playing Queer Eye for the Straight Guy with flare jeans and highlights in 240p. The dream of the 1990s is alive in Eusexua   

the energy this album brings is so unique and raw - every song is so well crafted you can tell, this is her magnum opus and will get a lot of buzz

This album is so good but the childish things song with.... really threw me off. Why? But other wise flawless album. I love how she pushes her vocals in some of the songs even to the point of discomfort. It feels as though she knew she couldn't hit the notes but it's more about the feeling than the execution. Of course on other songs she sounds insanely beautiful. The title track remains my favorite.

Dddddd that's exactly what I thought but I appreciated her vocal attempts. At least she only did that on two songs.

Even classic albums have their bad songs. We can just delete it and act like it  doesn't exist.

I haven't loved Twigs' music this much since the early years. 

Tahliah really stepped into her 90s electronica bag with this one. Definitely will be a contender for best of the year lists.

 

My favorite tracks are Striptease, Girl Feels Good, Perfect Stranger, Eusexua, Room of Fools and Keep It, Hold It.

i keep seeing the 90s Madonna/bjork comments and I agree. But my god, the way she growls "room of fools" LITERALLY sounds like bjork. I can't get over it. I'm convinced we're gonna find out it's actually bjork.

No but this album is definitely the 2020s extension of Ray of Light. It's going slightly downhill after Childlike Things but I'm sure the rest will grow on me just a little more with time.
