Young male pop artists have a short industry shelf life, because their youth & appeal to their target audience is hyper-fetishised, and once puberty does its job they're unceremoniously discarded.
 

Young women in the industry face a ridiculous amount of scrutiny, but they ultimately seem to fair better even as they age. Their audience is happy to grow with them & they also do better at tapping into markets outside of just music.

As much as we make fun of Austin Mahone being on OnlyFans I think he kinda deserves better? Somehow he managed to put out an album last year that is 1000x times better than anything Bieber will ever do.

He didn't manage to gain as many fans after Purpose so his original fans aged out of being active stans, but they will still come out of the woodwork when Bieber drops. Remember Yummy

Demi used to have a strong stan base. Her songs used to have really high debut sales. The fact is the she always failed to reach GP.
