looking at the acclaim, sales and already classic status cemented by the tour I'd say... nothing actually

It's not including pure sales which are around 500k-600K. And no visuals were released which would account for an extra 300K.

 

The era is heading for 4M-4.5M SPS in a year and a half of it's run. Right now it's around 3.5M I believe.

Taylor swift won 

nothing went wrong, threads still being made about it almost a year later, the album is stable on streaming and she’s on a sold out world tour right now so clearly the supposed rupaul tracks are working in her favor! 

If everybody likes it, maybe it’s not that good!

Literally nothing went wrong. Everything went the correct way.

This post makes no sense the album is still charting and selling. We still have the visuals coming soon so it will sell a lot more.

Aside from releasing Alien Superstar, and releasing the visuals, everything has been acceptable tbh.

But what about Beyoncé's last ten years implies she truly cares about this?

 

Beyoncé has largely operated in a "if you know you know" style of marketing wherein the connection people have to her music is informed more by personal opinions than having the songs drilled into your consciousness through a rigorous promotional campaign. What this achieves is a cult-like adoration for her work. This may mean lower streaming numbers, but also puts a larger focus on the artistry itself, not its commercial appeal.

 

And still, RENAISSNACE is a #1 album with a #1 hit, a massively steady follow-up hit, major acclaim, over a billion streams and a hit tour.

If you’re calling Renaissance a flop, you’ve just raised the bar for everyone else. The album hasn’t even been out a year.
