This on the House track? Or maybe the whole album won't be House, we still aren't 100% sure.

I can't wait for Virgo's groove as well.

  • It was the best concert of my life, bar none. Idc!    It was extraordinary, it was ineffable.  I knew I loved it based on the videos but I... Hey I don't know.    Best moment

I know this award is a joke but the point is, she has cemented herself in history with the likes of Whitney and Lauryn. And on top of that she won an award for a genre that completely ridiculed and ex

“Move” is produced by Guilty Beatz, who is an Afrobeats producer. Renaissance is going to incorporate many sounds, not just House music.

I'm thinking country-pop with gospel influences for this song.

FYWB would fit in perfectly with BMS

IDK, the producers are all hip-hop and 90s DJs

Hmm gonna be a lot if New Orleans Bounce :giraffe:

Am I the only one not trying to listen to all of the samples. I admit I got hyped about Teena Marie and Mrs. Honey. But, I’m not checking for it. Kinda wish we didn’t know in advance.

And frankly CIL did sound weird to me then. Now it's iconic and that beginning is instantly recognizable but it's a bit aggressive, it's not exactly smooth or easy or blends in like RnB or pop songs of the time.

But it's also a possibility she was lied to but I think she is the type of person to sit at the table when her album is being discussed. Then she could also be the one lying...

I actually think she's telling the truth. Cause you like said, CIL is brash at first. But, probably most importantly, it didn't sound like anything else that was out or that SHE had put out with DC.

I can see them worrying that it would sound dated cause it's samples a 70s song, while they were used to Bey making Darkchild hits as part of DC.

CIL was super polarizing when it came out, a lot of people did not like it.

My local radiostation used to have a "hot or not", and CIL was voted as a not by callers.  It ended up blowing up so they had to play it :lmao:

I am avoiding the samples, too. For the songs I have not heard before, I'd rather associate the sound with B, not the original.

But I'm listening to some of Beam's stuff. Had never heard of him before yesterday.

So were the ones for Daddy Lessons. We can't really predict anything.

But based on the credits it looks like she's sampling this song as well (Ralph MacDonald, James Brown, 90s DJs). This is one of the tracks I'm most excited about.

Bey is clearly homage to Thierry Mugler who passed away earlier this year. He literally created some of the most iconic looks for her during the IASF era and as soon as I saw the vinyl I couldn’t help but think of this iconic collection/show from 1997:

And knowing Grace Jones was also very close to Mugler, it all just makes sense. P2J is also on that track (Move), so a beat like “Don’t Jealous Me” (which has fashion runway type if sound) would be such a ******* serve.

This time next week she’ll be balls deep in us. That was fast. Maybe time does fly when you’re bored, resentful, and in the dark. A master plan after all.

I don't think so. Cause recently the guy who helped spin Crazy In Love On the radio said that the label didn't know what to do with her after Work it Out and they did not think CIL was a hit. It was too brash compared to why was on the radio at the time. They wanted her to record and work for R. Kelly and she and Matthew said hell no. He also stated that Nas threatened to leave Columbia when he found out Jay was going to be featured on Beys debut.

There was alot of drama with her debut. Alot of doubts. She even stated she had to get lawyers involved cause she wasn't re recording another album. The stories have been consistent. And we still don't know it all. I hope she does a memoir.

The obstacles but thank God she was 'stubborn' and refused to listen to her music label (and thank Matthew). With all the things going, she could ended up like Tinashe and Normani or SZA who was allegedly couldn't release an album due to their labels.

And during IASF, there were people who wasn't keen with her Black& White concept only for it to become her biggest commercial success. Same goes with 4 where she went on with the album release despite flop lead single and one month leak etc. I'm sure a lot of things going on during 4. With all these years, she has all the rights to become 'God' like tbh.

Renaissance most likely will be a blended genre project with a house influence over several tracks. Much like how electro-R&B was with ST.

I don't think we're ready for this album. :jonnycat:

I thought we would get a trailer today for the Renaissance visual. Maybe we will get one tomorrow.

It's probably like an intro of them singing, then boom,  funk house beat with big vocals

This album sounds wild, but I do typically save my judgements for arrival.
