I have to work on Friday. So I intend to nap immediately after work on Thursday and wake up an hour before the album is released Thursday night. I won’t be able to get into the album on Friday until

the evening and so refuse to be spoiled.

I have a feeling Church Girl is going to be one of the country leaning bops with gospel influences. It has Twinkie Clark and Ralph MacDonald listed as co-writers (probably from a sample/interpolation), who are essentially gospel ROYALTY. There also seems to be a James Brown sample.

This beat goes so hard I’ve always genuinely loved this song. Would love that bit to be sampled 

 

I have a gut feeling Alien Superstar is going to be the Countdown of the album. Pure fun, a little out of left field and one of her most sonically interesting and impressive songs. 

I dont know how I feel about yet another Too Sexy sample. Drakeisha just literally released a song with that sample on his October 2021 album

 

 

And Taylor Swift did it on Reputation too.

 

Anyway, I think Honey Dijon will produce the hell out of it.

Depends how it’s done. Drake took all the fun out of it. 

I was just about to mention Drake. I don’t want another comparison.

 

Also why not let fans determine the second single? That’s how certain smashes happened this past year. After the album was released Happier than Ever took off on tik tok and became the obvious next choice for Billie.  

Drakeisha’s use of the sample is like dry, unseasoned chicken. And I haven’t heard Tay’s version. For the label to be so blown away by Bey’s use, it must be something special. I have a feeling I’m That Girl will be the 2nd single though.

The early 90s glamour is stunning though

Same! I have high hopes for this song. Countdown was immediate for me so I wonder if miss Superstar will have the same power
