Why are you guys so worried? The song has been out for a WEEK :deadbanana2:

There is still plenty of room to grow, she's clearly aiming for longevity with the single.

Girl longevity by leaving it for dead? I'm not even saying the video needs to drop. And the performance is too soon now that I think about it.

But what's the purpose of the tik tok, getting Yvette to post and the Parkwood IG page? A little goes a long way and she's not giving at all. I'll always put Bey in a league of her own. But her peers ain't letting their comeback single go down like this. We need an announcement of something TODAY. And not another pre-order.

That's better than nothing but it's so bare minimum from her. I've just never seen so much hype and goodwill go to waste. Anyone else within recent memory would have jumped on it. The lyric video views  are phenomenal!

Whew. Im not doing this. She'll get her cute top 10 and we better hope she doesn't block herself at #11 like with Sorry. Chile..

Ur meltdown serving Chriz ca. April 2022 :deadbanana2:  Calm down, it ain't that serious.

Matter of fact: For the past 6 years we've had people (me included) write dissertations in here complaining about how her surprise releases and maximum-first-week-approach are literally killing her era after the initial drop because there is nothing to look forward to. Now we get a delayed release with various stages until the big album release in a month and you're shitting yourself because her lead has to face some streaming dips (a device she's pretty much neglected this past decade) during the weekend while radio is showing full support as of now.

Matter of fact: She isn't 20 something and about to promote the hell out of her record a la Dua Lipa or Doja. She's going to do it in a way that feels right to her which won't be cheap and basic promo slots. It'll be exclusive, special gigs, maybe one fun show during album release like Hot Ones and that'll be it in terms of seeing her on the road. Maybe one international interview.

Matter of fact:

Dua Lipa's mega smashes DSN and Levitating took months to completely take off the way they did. What was the most important aspect here? Quality of song + playlisting + radio support + TikTok-ability. As of now, BMS seems to have all ingredients lined up and the album release next month will give it another push for sure.

Wow, I feel like I'm living in a alternate reality being the level-headed in this base :deadbanana:

She will probably go top 10 next week but 11 would be funny lol.

I am not much stressed, after the way Lem and ST went, I do not expect much from her team tbh.

We should take what we get, so far there are some differences :

- we got a lead before the album

- she announced the release date of the album

- there will be vinyls first week and physical CDs as well

- and the song didn't come with a visual ready (we will see if that was a bad decision).

Why would Bey do that when she has her own share of tacky sexual lyrics herself? :deadbanana4:

Yeah but I’m not talking about the lyrics. Chloe goes at 120% in her performances, facial expressions, etc. in a way that comes off as too try-hard. She should definitely own her sexual agency, but I feel like she conveys “intensity” in a way that the music doesn’t always call for.

I don’t think Bey is the type of woman to tell another woman to “tone it down”. Beyoncé is self proclaimed feminist that would be very off brand for her. This also includes the fact that I’m sure Bey has heard that about herself from others.

I mean I just think it’s obvious that Chloe does a little too much in her visuals and online content and needs to strip it back a bit so it seems more natural/effortless. I don’t think Bey should tell her to stop being sexual, but sometimes it seems like Chloe tries so hard to convey a certain emotion/feeling that she ends up missing the point.

Idk if comparing Break My Soul to mega smashes DSN and Levitating is necessarily level-headed

It's an example and I don't expect BMS to smash that way obviously. It's called hyperbole and simile, rhetoric devices I just used to get my point across.

Im just confident in BMS and know it's gonna smash. I saw it in my prophecy. Stay heathens sistrens, I don't care!

Edit: Im a Dua fan (as shown in my sig) and have followed the entire FN era closely, I followed the streaming development of the songs and when I tell u that Bey's numbers are fine so far, then you can trust me. If she dips below 1.5 mio streams within the next week, we need to be concerned. If she stabilizes around 2.3-2.5 mio streams, we're good.

2.4 million isn’t that good and if it doesn’t stabilize soon then it will be dead by the time the album is released

I get how the all in one approach doesn't work either.  But this is her comeback. She's going to have to serve more engagement and less mystique than this. I'm personally worried that the Hive she depended on throughout her career are scattered and we can not carry this era if she doesn't come harder in the coming weeks. We need more teasers similar to 2 weeks ago. Not more pre-orders.

I'm interested to see if the song rebounds today. I personally didn't have time to stream the song as much this weekend. But based on how she dropped on AM,  the GP who don't know any better expected her at the BET Awards and she lost interest like that.

Let's agree to disagree because as of now, I do see engagement on Team Bey's part. It's just more indirect. The radio updates are amazing (lbr here), the playlisting is good but definitely needs a more aggressive push,  GP curiosity is there based on Shazam.

We are still in week 1 of the song's release and there are 4 more weeks to go till album release, which is obviously the main goal here.

I feel many things are starting off really great considering the sonic change and her age, it'll need to develop obviously and people need to get familiar with this very new Bey sound. The positive reception so far keeps me hopeful tho

It can only smash if she puts in the effort. No song in recent memory smashes with such little effort. Even the RUTH lady has been doing her rounds since Top Gun.

Bey is at such a crossroad where she can't really perform on the platforms Dua did to get DSN and Levitating off the ground. I just can't see her doing it. Everything she does has to be an event now I fear. How can she successfully promote a song and engage with the GP without seeming.. basic? Honest question.

The issue here is that the song is not stabilizing. It keeps losing streams. On the other hand, Radio is doing great.  just don’t be surprised when you see a drastic decrease in radio on the 8th day.

I mean I agree with all of this. The effort is there but I think the engagement needs to be more direct. She's played it way too low key for so many years and I can see it going over alot of peoples head.

And I don't like how these fake Hive pages lie and set Beyonce up to do something, only for her not to do it and they (the new stans and casuals) get disappointed. I knew BET was a reach.

I think we’re all perplexed why Bey didn’t release a visual for the song yet. We all know her decisions are very calculated, so it remains to be seen why there’s a video delay or if there’s going to be one released at all.

All these analytics and predictions.

I think we can all agree the song is doing great, while noting a continued drop on Spotify.  But can we all save the worry until the video comes out, or after the pop impact date comes and goes.  Like 1 day here and 1 day there don't mean much when literally the song has only been out 6 days.

Instagram post with cover + long paragraph about how it was a passion project and she loves her fans deep

Which would get morw views than the BET Awards so....

This is not 2006, a BET Awards Performance means NOTHING, those songs did not gain anything significant cause no one watches anymore.

When Bey is ready to break the internet it needs to be via TikTok or her own Instagram/Youtube page so she gets ALL the views.

What if Bey sets up her own virtual performances through Parkwood? I really dont believe shes going for the awardshow-performances-promo this time around, but more so a "Special Night with Beyonce"-type of exclusive, but very promoted and accessible performance.

Context clues boo.

The girls seem to have missed those tweets from those virtual reality teams saying they're working on projects for sis.

It wont be drastic, the first day numbers weren't ginormous for a large rolling effect

I think it’s a smart idea to make the people wait for the video as it just drums up more excitement in the era and the song, but that’s providing she releases the video this Friday at the latest. If we’re still waiting for the video this time next week, then I’m really going to need Yvette to have a word with herself if she’s thinks this is an enviable rollout in any shape or form :deadbanana2:

As for BMS performance, it’s still doing great. It will be a top 10 in the US and the album is going to #1 regardless. I’m just excited for the era as a whole. 16 new songs, more singles, a tour, videos/visuals, and incredible performances :jonnycat:

How many of her fans have access to a VR set? If that’s the plan, then good luck to her :bibliahh:

by the way, I was just thinking that Renaissance could leak at any moment 2 weeks from now. This is why it is important to maximize promo and preorders now, not only on her website but also on Amazon, Target, HMV etc…

I hope the UK promo rumours are true. I’d really love her to do a UK interview and performance on a talk show like Graham Norton :cries: I can only dream.

Next year isn’t guaranteed since it’s very likely she’ll be on tour. Not performing last night just makes no sense
