Beyoncé

This is part 1 of the Beyoncé discussion.

I like Chloe and think she’s extremely talented…but her overtly sexual performance style is not connecting for me. It’s missing the finesse that Bey has and comes across kinda sloppy. Some of this could be solved with different styling choices - something fresh and less “bey-lite.”

  • It was the best concert of my life, bar none. Idc!    It was extraordinary, it was ineffable.  I knew I loved it based on the videos but I... Hey I don't know.    Best moment

I know this award is a joke but the point is, she has cemented herself in history with the likes of Whitney and Lauryn. And on top of that she won an award for a genre that completely ridiculed and ex

On a side note, BET really messed up by making it a celebrity edition imo. I would have loved a real season of College Hill again. I just rewatched all of the seasons like last year on hulu :skull: VI was the best season

this is why beyoncé not going. if the production is messy like that maybe it was for the best :toofunny3:

I’m surprised Bey hasn’t told her to dial it back a bit. Seductive and sexy is good but Chloe overdoes it in a way that makes it seem awkward/uncomfortable at times.

Why would Bey do that when she has her own share of tacky sexual lyrics herself? :deadbanana4:

It’s not the lyrics for me. It’s Chloe’s performance style. I just wish she would slow down a bit, or give sexy with a bit of camp or humor. It comes across like she’s playing dress up and feels awkward.

No wonder TV is dying. I mean u get literally one award +acceptance speech and then 5 min break, then 1 performance then 5 min break. My God is that horrible

This is why I (and prob millions) stopped tuning into award shows. I remember when everyone used to get hype for nights like these.

When u have a show that goes 3 hours, its 1.5 hours of ads included. Who in their minds would watch 1.5 hours of ads?

Such a waste of time. They really have to limit it to a max of 1/5th of the screening time

I don’t think Bey is the type of woman to tell another woman to “tone it down”. Beyoncé is self proclaimed feminist that would be very off brand for her. This also includes the fact that I’m sure Bey has heard that about herself from others.

If you’re gonna switch it up, then SWITCH IT UP!

I thought Chloe's performance was awesome, and she wasn't nearly as "extra" as normal. She was actually quite refined and still served :flame::clap3:

Aren't the commercials that frequent only in America? I think in Europe they are more bearable.

Has anything happened during the BET awards?
