It be nice but she not obligated to always speak.

Does she need to? I feel like things that are so widely contested don't need to be parroted by celebrities just for the sake of it.

Not too much on Chloe, I'll always give props to a very talented woman especially if she is black and Chloe is both of those things. She is badly advised and those songs bar Have Mercy (which despite not being the epitome of great music was a smart debut single) are completely forgettable. Chloe should release that album and move onto working the next CxH....Just because she isn't smashing out of the gate solo doesn't mean the future doesn't hold something for her later on.

I'm probably in the minority here but I don't want nor need Bey speaking on Roe v Wade, I don't need any celebrities speaking on it

Its always tricky cause you wanna say the right thing but not come off performative or attention seeking.

Celebs like Bey, who are known feminist, for women empowering, and etc. don’t needa speak up. Cause her work and resume speaks for itself.

She shouldn’t

I can finally post again after being banned for 3 MONTHS (!!!! :monkey:) and let me tell y’all I have been BOPPING :WAP:  I am OBSESSED with this song. My favourite thing Bey has done since Lemonade.

I’m so happy with the direction Bey is taking and literally can’t wait to hear the album in full. I love the title RENAISSANCE as well :cries: Everything is just perfect so far. Literally can’t wait to see the video for BMS. I want it to be the gayest thing I’ve ever seen :rainbow:

Also, I nearly collapsed when I saw the visuals for British Vogue. Literally the best photoshoot she has done in a very long time, possibly ever. She’s already  feeding us so much this era and it’s only the beginning :jonny6: We are blessed.

Anyway, I’m very happy to be back for this release.

Spoiler

What I don't understand with Chloe is why is her music not on the level of Ungodly Hour? Surprise is her best song so far and that's not saying much. I also don't understand why she felt the need to follow B's preference while disregarding all the others and why would B even choose it : Cheat Back (which is a bit of an Irreplaceable's clone) and FTN (which is at least more pop leaning) would have done more for her. Plus they wouldn't have been another sexual song. She's really talented so good luck but frankly, it's great that Parkwood lets them fully develop their talent but she's not going to become a superstar if they keep managing her this way.

It'll be tricky if she says something now that she has music to promote, it might appear performative. But either way, she's going to get dragged : for speaking and for not speaking so whatever.

Take it easy with the replies. I've learnt to mostly just read the threads, report all the flamebaity/trolling/offtopic topics and go about my day. The beauty of it: The more hate they spew now, the quieter it'll be during album release cause these users are all about to be banned till then.  A win-win situation for us

The thought of Renaissance becoming Bey's biggest album on streaming platforms and demolishing IASF finally.. Phew, we are truly about to WIN

Since the release I've ignored every other part of ATRL outside this base and the Bravo one for my own sanity, I'm only surrounding myself of Bey love

Enter those flamebait-y threads and just report and don't reply, it's kind of fun. It's like using some special anti-wasp spray to keep them away

I’d be here for her premiering the video at the BET awards.

I believe so. This is a watershed moment in American History/Global history where in a democracy rights are literally being taken away. This is how the rise of Nazis began. Plus it’s more than Roe, they are going to tackle gay marriage next, brown vs board of education, interracial marriage, and more. It’s the precise moment for everyone to speak up. The supreme courts just this week struck down Miranda rights,  which means police have the authority even more so to do whatever they want and they don’t have to warn you, prisoners can no longer re try their case with new evidence that proves their innocence. The fact that the alarm bells aren’t ringing is concerning.

I still think Chloe went solo too early, Chloe X Halle were JUST gaining mainstream footing, they were booking shows for the first time and Do It was their first single to chart on the Hot 100.

She also failed to book any major collabs before hand like Normani (Sam Smith & Khalid).

She's basically starting from scratch. A big part of leaving a group for solo success is coming from a huge girl group, and more often than not as a leading lady.

Nicole couldn't even secure a successful solo career after the PCD, Camilla came and went and Normani hasn't happened yet (lbr).

The only women to do it successfully have been Diana Ross and Beyoncé. Diana's mold is too old, she went solo in 1970 (pre-streaming, hell pre-MTV, she's from the era of American Bandstand and the Ed Sullivan show :skull:). And even Beyoncé's mold is dated now, she came up during TRL and 106 & Park.

They're fumbling the bag with Chloe 100%. She doesn't have that many chances left.

I wouldn't say they're failing her. Not when the current crop of R&B girls are struggling with their labels one way or another. Chloe has the platform and backing for only 1 platinum single. I like how she's willing to work and showcase her music. BUT her biggest setback is that she wants to be a star but she's not willing to put out music that's more commercially appealing. She stepped far too left by releasing Treat Me after she gambled with Have Mercy. The people who were partial and willing to give her a chance to showcase a different side jumped ship after that video. Now she's releasing Surprise but it's too late I fear. She's going to have to come with that FIRE to quell both sides of the argument.

And I'm also seeing where the she and Halle's strengths lie. As a solo act, Chloe's production is going to need refinement. She's too busy and her voice is strong enough. However, now that Ive heard Potion by Halle, I can see how some might consider her voice too quiet and she needs more umph. But her lyrics and harmonies are very dynamic. They're both definently developing as solo artists.

I don’t give a damn about Chloe at this point. Treat me was never doing anything, and neither is surprise.

stop releasing these flop ads songs.

OT: Bey needs to just do what she needs to do and send Chloe well wishes.

Why Chloe catching strays like this? :jonnycat:
