I just don't think we should expect Chloe to be an out-the-gates superstar when realistically Chloe x Halle were moderately successful at the most generous way to describe them, and at least half of their success and apprecaition during the Ungodly Hour era being thanks to the elevated promotion, live performances and videos that Parkwood afforded them.

 

I think she's doing well for herself, buiding on the limited fanbase and notoriety of her group and being a very visible up-and-comer in her genre with a good level of support.

U have a lot of goodwill, Swiss, but these last 2 drops by Chloe did nothing for Chloe but steal her thunder. It is what it is.

Chloe went solo because she was stuck in LA during the pandemic without Halle. There are no conspiracies. The songs she dropped are good but her album shouldve been out by now since it’s been ready for months now. 
Chloe & Halle said last week that the recording of their next album will start in July. 
This wont be a fifth harmony thing, these are blood sisters 

I also think the expectations on Chloe are/were too high anyway, I'm sure she'll be okay

I duno. They're good enough songs. I've actually been streaming Treat Me a lot more lately between BREAK MY SOUL and in that context somehow I like it a lot, whereas I didn't enjoy it so much before.

 

I think her releases are sort of serving as what another Chloe x Halle record would have done, further build her fanbases, express her artistry, develop herself, etc. And in that way, I just think it's fine that she continues to grow rather than being huge out the gate.

Theres no hype for the BET Awards. It’s going to flop but I still think Bey should announce her performance. Break My Soul is currently slaying every radio format. I cant remember the last song that did that. We need this promo to keep the streams stable for 2 weeks while radio builds. 
Then upload the performance on YouTube to tie people over until the music video drops.

I think Beyoncé is a lot more like Matthew than we/she thinks. This "signing a sisterhood group" feels very Matthew even if this wasn't outright intended to be such a close simiarlty to DC where his strategy all along was to have DC split up and come back as biggers stars.

 

This will ONLY make CXH's return that much more special and anticipated after both of their solo ventures. Very smart.

tbh Chloe would benefit a lot from a Solange-like 40-minute visual album that lets her state her intent and all that.

I have to be honest with how talented and creative Chloe is her music has been subpar. She’s doing very basic rnb/pop and I was expecting a more innovative sound. Even Doja at the very beginning was able to set herself apart and go viral with “***** I’m a cow”. ?

Right, I know we are in a very delicate time frame right now but we need some happiness too 

 

I would though, love to see what Chloe can come up with in trying to fit a more standard pop song (as pop is defined in 2022) into her style, have fun with it, be really silly, make fun of it if that's the way to explore it...something like Check On It which Beyoncé herself never took seriously or really wanted to release...

 

I think her vocal performances are really unique and she should lean into that.

I always got the feeling she gravitated towards them because they remind her of the dynamic she has with Solo and Kelly. Just from hearing stories about how Bey has checked people for talking about her sisters and vice versa. She never liked being considered the Golden child and wants to make sure CxH get equal opportunity and development. It's really sweet.

Yeah for Chloe, I think Surprise is a good song but she lost so much momentum wasting her time on treat me, which was just a bad song, bad video and just all over the place. That led to people mostly ignoring Surprise seeing as the subject matter is still about sex. She’s making people tune her out by not being more versatile. From what I’m hearing I don’t really wanna even check it out anymore, tbh. 

Honestly, not doing promo because Chloe is going to perform at the same award show is just stupid. Why we have to suffer because of Chloe? Doesn't make any sense. Chloe probably knew Beyoncé was coming with an album and she still decided to release in this time period, besides Chloe wouldn't make any noise with or without Beyoncé anyway. We need the damn performance Bey!!!

I think Chloe should take a break for a minute. She seems to be throwing a lot of songs out there to see what sticks. That whole Instagram live she did asking fans to pick her next single. It’s cute but also a bit desperate. Y’all are right saying she squandered her initial moment. Back to the drawing board, she still has time.
