I'm actually glad she's holding the video till later. The song is serving good longevity and is holding great on Spotify. It's also doing well internationally.

 

She's clearly looking to let the song ride and peak after the album is out. It's also getting great radio updates as well.

Because that fanbase was unhinged. Read the first Page and anytime there was an update. They brought up that song everytime, trying to come for Bey. They were asking to be dragged the way they were tbh

the amount of capitalism takes and thinkpieces every time beyonce drops something. beyonce is always the topic when it comes to social issues, the standard of wealth/power in the community, but absolutely zilch is said about miss billionaire fenty. the bias is really annoying.

The amount of thinkpieces for a 4-minute feel-good song... is it THAT serious?

It's soooo annoying when thinkpiece twitter starts on their bullshit with fave like it's always her and it's always the usual suspects but I get it...Her existence carries a certain importance and weight, very few can/will ever relate to

 

 

 

 

1. Crazy in Love (it's just too powerful and it her debut of debuts which makes its quality even better)
2. Formation (her messagae so clear, the sound so distinct, its lyrics too iconic)
3. Break My Soul (instantly catchy)
4. Drunk in Love (I like it less as time goes on, but it went SO hard when it came out and felt like such a moment)
5. Single Ladies (great song, but imo the video is what makes it even better)
6. Deja Vu (still great but CIL 2.0 so)
7. Run the World (iconic, kind of a bad single choice for the album but a great song, would've been a good second single)
8. If I Were A Boy (not my type of Beyoncé song but still strong)

yes that is very true. any other rich artist could make this song with 1/100th of the interest in critiquing it, just like 100s of other artists have made house music before everyone started measuring who made house music first when Beyoncé does it... just like the scrutiny over when she decided to have Black Pride [her whole career] after Formation... just like all the thinkpieces because she had FEMINIST behind her at the VMAs...she is the cultural moment, that's the thing, and as much as she's OVER-PRAISED to some people, she's OVER-CRITIQUED by those same ones...that's to be expected.

Exactly, and a lot of it is storytelling. All of the artists do it. Dolly literally made a song called 9-5 while already famous, Bruce springstein sang about blue collar workers well into his career, yet it’s different when Beyoncé does it.

I kept saying this and some were mad. This is a very smart decision to hold the music video until interest is slipping away and then shock them again with the visuals. I'm so loving this era so far.

They talk about her because she's very important and they care a lot. 

The more they talk, the more exposure she gets and the bigger she remains. 

The hypocrisy is horrible and frustrating sometimes but there's just something about Beyoncé that makes her feel too grand, too extraordinary therefore some feel it their mission to attack and destroy her. 

The views on the lyric video keep going up. The music video would overshadow it if she released it right away. She is letting everything get the proper shine until she releases the next thing. A proper traditional promo like it used to be done back in the days.
