She's steadily using her head register on 1+1. Besides, it sounds like she's speaking those Eb5s, which tells a lot since that note can be heard sporadically on Renaissance.

 

I also love the final "youuuu" (D5) on Rather Die Young, the brief call and response on Break My Soul (hopefully she extends it) and the C#3/C3 when she says "hey Mrs. Carter". Thus, I'm expecting a great showcase of her lower register, I know she can go a bit more down than that.

 

To sum up, Cardiff was the best show in terms of vocals. I'm so happy for the Welsh hive who had to experience all of this

Yes I'd love for her to cover more songs related to RENAISSANCE. Obviously there is no room for it on the tour, but if she ever did a Wynn-style concert while promoting RENAISSANCE, it would be magic to hear her take on a bunch of Disco and early House songs.

For me it’s just a career footnote. But I can definitely see it being a huge moment for people who stan both

I love how people always come for her personality when beyonce exudes more personality in that outro of Heated, live at that, than most of their favs do in their entire career

I have a few theories that I've been ruminating on lol. Some logical, some far-fetched.

 

* She's singing live way more as a trade-off for whatever injury she's navigating: I know my Bey and it's no secret to any observational Hive member that she's lipped a lot during her shows (over her entire career). I'd say with each show being roughly 60% live / 40% lipped. IMO, it's been to preserve her voice (for the long term) and give an all-out show (choreo and the full works). In the absence of dancing full out all the way through, we're are getting a show that sounds almost entirely sung live. I can see her seeing it as a fair trade-off and in many ways it is.

 

* She's using the European leg of the tour to shake off rust: between not being in an album cycle and Covid, she legit hadn't properly performed since 2018. Even for the most agile performer and vocalist, it'll take a minute to get back into that performance pocket. Even if the lion's share of the tour stays the same til the end, I'm convinced the best-best-best of what it "can" be is still ahead. 

 

* The visuals are coming and will be dropped strategically for maximum gain (more tour $$$): mentioning and teasing the visuals (instead of pretending they don't exist) intimates that there are still plans for them. I can see her dropping them between Euro leg and US leg (like EIL) and giving US a show peppered with the key choreo from the visuals. This also sets up Europe for a 2nd leg to get excited about. I think we need to stop looking at the visuals as a means of helping the album sales shoot up (in any majorly significant way) and more as a means of her attracting the masses to her main money-maker: touring. 

 

Something definitely went seriously left with the visuals and the window of them benefitting the music in any measured way seems to have passed. But that's where Bey's "bigger picture" approach to her career will benefit/save her, especially at times when her ish has gone awry.

 

The fact is: a sizeable enough portion of people WILL care when the visuals drop, she'll have the benefit of a major media partner (Netflix, Amazon, HBO, whoever) pushing it, and in place of reviving the album, it'll serve to benefit her current activity: the tour. 

 

* Acts II and III: One wildcard theory is that in missing the window for the Act 1 visuals to line up with Rennie Act 1, the next innovation of hers might be dropping a visual that encompasses ALL of the acts. She's a stunt Queen in the best way and very much is still in a season of her career of wanting to be "the first to x". We'll all know at our core that a Rennie film was planned, but we'd equally gag at something all-encompassing that we weren't expecting.

 

We'll see.

I agree and was thinking similarly when I saw this video.

 

On top of that, I think something people miss when shading Beyoncé for her long list of collaborators is just how fair she is about credits. I'm not saying the above video is this example, but any person who contributes in the slightest to the song gets a credit. She's so used to collaboration (girl-group lead singer) that I don't think she's precious about credits in the same way that other popstars are, and yet that is used against her as if she couldn't write a song by herself, forgetting that she HAS on multiple occasions but added in credits that others otherwise would not have.

It would be iconic if Beyoncé either found a way, or changed the game so that the streams/views of her visual album contribute to the album sales.

 

Because honestly if music video views count, what's the real difference between a visual album view? One could argue people watch music videos just to hear the song, like playing it in the background, but that same argument could be made for a visual album on Netflix (as an example). It may not be an established way that people consume music, but who is to say that the music is not being consumed in the same way it is being consumed on YouTube? The media is essentially exactly the same.

Streamers like Netflix and Prime surely have a way to understand where in a film/show people are watching until, so establishing which songs were consumed within the full piece can't be hard. Even customers can tell what they've watched until.

 

Anyway, imagine lol...

Please, Columbia release another single. I want AS and Heated to be released before she moves on to the other albums. 

I don't understand why even releasing singles is so slow.

It's been almost 12 months and we only got two singles and the last one was forced by TikTok.

Yea but it’s also football, they changed their season earlier so it’s pretty booked up from April - August and I don’t think they wanted any concerts because of the pitch. It’s just bad timing.
