It all started with the Obama connection and deepened with her activism. I don't mind it though, because if someone in real life hates her for stuff like this it's an immediate red flag. 

It's happening with Taylor too, there's a MJ comparison tweet with about as many likes at the Metallica one.

As for Madonna, it’s not really about “wanting to see the BMS remix performed live” because even if they didn’t have a single together it’d still be an important moment. Two music titans sharing the stage, two of the best ever to do it. Renaissance is a show Madonna would have done in her day if she could, and I’m sure she’d be honored to take part. Beyoncé and Chris Martin is just Beyoncé and Chris Martin, Beyoncé and The Weeknd is just Beyoncé and The Weeknd, but Beyoncé and Madonna holds weight, means something, international implications etc etc

Yeah, the crowds in Belgium and Wales were fairly loud.

It's funny the tune y'all are singing now because all through summer '16, the party line was that FWT was a massive letdown because of its sporadic setlist filled with random mashups and supposedly too many forced dance breaks  Now it's peak Bey

Yeah that’s nice I just don’t love Madonna like that I guess. But it would be a nice moment for sure

 

side note but I’m sooooo happy Bey performed with Prince and Tina while they were/are still alive. I also feel like her and Whitney on stage would be freaking epic. Also happy she got that award moment with MJ on stage

if I had my own theories…I’d say the growing lack of respect as a vocalist over recent years has had more influence for this tour than her just having fun on stage. B/c how can you hear DIL, 1+1, I Care, Flaws & All back to back and be reduced to “just a performer”? 

Thanks for pointing out this, I'm pleasantly surprised too as ballads were the ones getting cut instead. 1+1 during the second MCSWT leg was an example of this tendency despite being her fav song to perform.

 

Well, she was the one who deliberatly used to focus more on choreography and heavy dance routines during both FWT and Cochella. I'm guessing that she got a bit tired of that and went on having a more tender approach instead by bringing up ballads (DIL and Flaws And All) and her fav songs (RDY).

 

It's clear to everybody what she's trying to communicate with this tour, in other words "let me sing" and "4 is my classic album".

I do hope that KNEE gets better and she continues refining until she reaches the states, bc ngl I do want a little more choreography and kinda miss that untouchable goddess vibes y'all were referring to. But I guess it's good that she's more personable/engaging this show which makes sense bc this is supposed to feel like a celebration (and Gen Z is eating it all up on TikTok, personality IN.. goddess persona OUT ). This shows like a cute mix between TBE and FWT in vocals, production, theme. If she happens to extend this tour for ACT II for her Rock/Country album, I'm begging for Sex on Fire.  I'm also crying at the AUIYM/Thique cut complaints when it was like a consensus that these were the weakest songs off the album. This show is unexpected in every way. 

I admit that I got chills when I heard the ballad section, but I also enjoyed seeing her dance during Diva () and RTW. In fact, a perfect balance between singing and dancing will always result in the best outcome.

Madonna and Beyoncé together would be a SLAY, I'm sorry but that's a career highlight. Say what you want about Madonna but she's a Pop Goddess and helped pave the way.

 

Madonna also loves and acknowledges Beyoncé unlike another woman (cough, cough, Janet). 

 

Both Queens though

She's just slowly rebranding herself because of her age and her physical abilities.

She can't get to her 50s/60s and be expected to dance like crazy, so with this opening act she shows everyone she would be a force to reckon with even if you only come to see her sing. It's pretty clever!

But it explains why she won't cut this part of the show instead of the other!

I'd love another Beyoncé and Diana Ross moment. She's older, and has a much older fanbase for obvious reasons but Diana is so ESSENTIAL to ball culture. Back when the balls were still underground and the houses were being set-up in the 1970's her music was a ST and her image was ever present. It's why all the older Queens idolize her.

 

If not that, I'd love some more remixes. Beyoncé singing The Boss, Upside Down, Love Hangover or It's My House. 

 

The possibilities are endless this era.
