Stan goggles have a lot to do with it imo. I was in the thread of The Lion King premiere and I remember the comments from members of this base watching that red carpet live stream and her being the only one from the film to not appear but just take pictures on the red carpet. They were completely turned off and dragged her but that lasted maybe a day. 
 

Regarding this part of your post:

Her not being in any kind of content like this and completely not engaging with the rest of the cast helps to push that narrative. Her being the only cast member to not promote it at all but be the topic of most all the casts interviews helps that narrative. 
 

I’m specifically using The Lion King as an example because it’s not Beyonce exclusive like an album and the audience was mostly GP or built in TLK fans…and the topic of her not promoting was discussed in and outside of this base. 

I still find the whole lion king promo hilarious. She really checked out of the publicity until it was time to promote The Gift

Imagine she actually drops a Cuff It video, maybe a remix or two, and snatches another number one from Renny  ik she doesn't seem to cater to the charts much these days but it would be amazing for her to have two #1s off the same album - hasn't happened since DIL

Did she release the video to coincide with it being Platinum Certified (Hence Hive Certified).

The argumentation "if you/people fail to see that it's on you/them" is so weak and exactly shows the problem of Beyonce post 2013. Its literally her job to sell her brand. If we or anyone fails to see something, she quite frankly didnt do a good job at selling it well or presenting it well. Thats exactly why Lemonade is pretty much forgotten these days, her recurrent stats being quite frankly quite weak and getting worse by the minute, and people just checking out.

Dont expect people who have more than enough to deal with in their daily lives doing the work for you when u dont do anything other than the very bare minimum.

Well I think the point is that they wouldn't even get round to listening to the albun to draw this conclusion. Most people are simply not invested in any artists enough to check out an album other than those they have strong favouritism to. And that's the job of multiple singles and promotion, to reach beyond the already curious/converted ... that's where brand comes in, and I don't think Bey is in a different boat from any other artis there.

 

But I agree these are not objective critiques of things she needs to change but more observations and subjective feelings. Ultimately you stan an artist, not a service, so it's not her role to bow to the most common denominator to appeal to the widest amount of people. 

 

I personally found some of her direction tiring around TG & EIL era. Visually I'm confident/hoping Ren visuals will freshen things up (if we completely disregard the ITG teaser which i wasn't keen on)

Personally I think that the rennie visuals are gonna be her homage to gay black culture and it will move the culture in a huge way since it’s a huge statement she’ll be making by fagging out like this tbh

Unfortunately it wont cause most people have already checked out of the Renaissance experience, which is evident by the fact that almost half of its streams come from.Cuff It alone these days which is also "only" pulling 2.2 Mio streams per day.

U gotta be realistic at one point - culturally impacting the World only works when u dominate media; like she did with ST and Lemonade at the time

Oh something has to have gone wrong behind the scenes? There is no way Beyonce things going this long without visuals is smart? Letting the music speak for 4 months is a little too much time

 

How many folk watching the lion king album visuals? Not many, sis should ditch long form. 
 

Also isn’t there an insider somewhere that has tea? So odd?!!!!!! All these producers have said “soon” for months now.

It's cute and all but videos have never prevented people from enjoying music ever. It has helped artists to acutely give a vision beyond music and a big part of the legacy of black artists is tied to it : Thriller breaking down barriers on MTV, them using to highlight social issues : Nina Simone, MJ, Prince, Janet, even Beyoncé being considered the visual artist of her generation makes such statements uncalled for imo.

FEEL can be both experienced with just music and through visuals. If not does that mean Lemonade wasn't about FEEL?

Let's be cautious with the way we present stuff just to gas up Beyoncé because somehow it actually deters to her own legacy. Saying this about an album makes ST and Lemonade's as well as upcoming album's visuals superfluous.

This song is such an anthem! I don't understand how people don't hear it. The anger at its acclaim is so weird to me as well as people moving on so fast from it. It's an excellent song. My only quarrel with it until this day is that the Gospel part is too short and at least one repeated chorus could have been left out. 

Cool video, a bit late, the number of views show people have checked out.

That ship has sailed long ago, let it go already. There's no 'ah ha!' moment anymore when the visuals drop. 

 

Sure, there's gonna be some amazing videos and we'll all watch and enjoy and gag as fans, but the experience has already been tainted. The impact they will have will be minimal at this point. And I'm not referring to the general public and commercial success, but to the mark it will leave on her fans and career as a whole. Because the novelty of the album has worn off already. 

 

Look at BIK, there's arguably some of her best visuals in there. How many of you think of it as one of your fondest memories of Beyonce, one of the highlights and most notable moments of her career in the way ST and Lem were? It's not for nothing they say 'strike while the iron is hot'. This is only going to be much worse because the expectations were much higher for her first studio album in 6 years unlike the side project for the lion king. It has left a sour taste in my mouth and I'm sure I'm not alone in this; fans are gonna complain about it for the rest of her career most probably. This has been one of the most disappointing experiences as a fan of anybody in my life.
