Honest question: Do u think her recurrent streams are so low because shes become so offputting and people actually not liking her? I feel like ever since shes become this enigma, not doing any Interviews, etc, people do respect her and her craft, but dont actually like her any longer. I feel like that subconsciously impacts her recurrent stats.

Probably you're right. Its really weird tho.cause Bey is certainly respected, but is she likeable? I dont.know about that. She doesnt try nor need to be and I get its better for her mental health and privacy and thus sanity, but it kinda does come at a price when our world is so driven by being approachable and relatable

I don’t think it matters to her anymore and in the larger scheme of things it doesn’t matter at all as long as she wasn’t completely off the radar. She could’ve done things from the comforts of her own home but clearly prefers to starve the people of already created content. Bey and Parkwood don’t care and we need to get over it.

I have no idea whatsoever about streams or how they work and I won't pretend to, but I do know a few people (and have met several more in passing) who have been completely turned off by the untouchable goddess walks on water thing she's inhabited since after 4. Basically it's no fun. My sister and one my closest friends, both women in their mid-30s who came of age to and with Beyonce and spent untold hours dancing in front of the TV to her music videos and calling the hotline to win MTV contests and freaking out over every performance, have all but abandoned her as an act of current interest. Not coincidentally their enthusiasm for her started to fade after she decided to make the mystique of ST her career forever. They simply check out her music when they get around to it; they know she still delivers on that front. I find that most people I talk to about Beyonce consider her an all-time best entertainer and respect her talent and work ethic but are completely unmoved by any of the post-ST surprises and era tricks, annoyed by the media narratives surrounding them, and dismissive of the titan-of-industry powercouple-ation of her public persona. She's harder to relate to by the year, which was by her own design. But when public figures have less and less to do with the public, the public has less and less to do with them. It's a fact that that has started to show with Beyonce. Most Hive and MTV-era fans signed up for the best showgirl of all time, not behind closed doors boardroom Bey. Do I think she's in danger of being Katy Perry'd forgotten? Is she teetering on the brink of oblivion because she doesn't interview or release videos on time or even smile that much anymore dd? Not by any stretch of the imagination. But that approach most definitely is not helping either.

I totally agree, people are really put off by her last few years, but honestly it kinda seems she wants this, so i really don't care as well

wow, you put this way better into words than I ever could.  

And I think we can all agree that nothing shes doing is taking away from her, but this disconnect is absolutely tangible - among the GP and even more importantly among us fans. When we as fans say "we don't care anymore cause she isn't bothered", are we even fans of hers? Isn't the point of being a fan somebody who actually cares?

I think how private she has been since OTRII tour has definitely hindered her image with the GP, however in saying that, I totally understand why. The media is a cesspool these days and celebs are getting called out for any tiny mis step (sometimes rightly so). Family comes first for her and she wants to protect it. Unfortunately, some people will equate privacy to snobbery or lack of relevance.

 

I do miss the outfit updates/videos with silly poses that she used to post on Insta  2013-2016 was the best for that. Also miss her tumblr era greatly.

Exact same for me and some of my relatives/friends. They checked out around 4 but the surprise of ST brought them back around temporarily. After the trial periods on HBO and Tidal were over and we went to Formation shows LEMONADE wasn’t mentioned much. Ever since then it’s like they check in here and there but aren’t really moved like they used to be outside of going to a show. 
 

I guess she’s really entering the “legacy act” era. Which makes sense, she and her team don’t really do anything to engage with fans except the social media hints and clues leading up to an album announcement.

I still think Beyoncé is about to come out of hiding and serve a proper era FINALLY. But if she doesn't I'd say RENAISSANCE is officially the beginning of her legacy act period.
