I get "why" people come to these conclusions. I just don't think it's fair. If Beyoncé doesn't want to do promo for her own album, do you really think she wants to do it for a Disney film? There are a million notoriously private actors/actresses ... they may have a larger-than-life persona but no one vilifies them for it the way they do Beyoncé. Greta Garbo is a very notable one. Her reclusiveness is like an asset to her legacy, something people joke about but also say without an ounce of judgement. But apparently Beyoncé needs to be ever open to the public or she's an arrogant goddess. Meanwhile she's never been nothing but kind, gracious, and loving to the GP. Her commencement speech is a great exmaple of her reaching out and doing something not in her job description that actually feels correct, not a promo or a "I'm so real" interview.

Let's be honest, the movie wasn't good...at all, and as a Beyoncé fan the best part of the film's existence was The Gift. She did what she needed to do to access her fans and get them involved in the movie beyond just "go hear my voice in the film!" Sure, she didn't promote it. But every Beyoncé fan knew about it and its legacy for the film will last far longer than if she had filmed a behind-the-scenes video with the cast.

I mean, it’s not fair but it is what it is. As a more invested fan, I know that it was due to her being heavily invested in the training and planning of Coachella. But I don’t expect a casual fan to be that aware of the timeline. So I understand why people had that perception.

In my opinion I feel like you may be looking at things as isolated scenarios and not the total picture (feel free to correct me if I’m wrong here). But it’s everything in totality that makes people outside of the base feel like she’s arrogant or thinks she’s a goddess. Celebrities talk about her like an “other” or say self deprecating things in an odd attempt to elevate her. I believe a lot of that is performative and I don’t think it makes fans of those people (who would be GP to Beyonce) look at her in the positive light that we as fans do.

A good example from today, I was watching a podcast featuring a singer who was signed to a label but her music career never really took off. She said Beyonce asked her what she really wanted her sound to be, what she saw for her career and producers she would like to work with. She created a list and Beyonce made it happen (as a fan to know she has that kind of pull and power I find fascinating) the problem was the girls label did not want that for her and shelved the album which pretty much ended her music career. Her fans weren’t thrilled with Bey in the comments at all despite her doing, in my opinion, a favor for this artist.

A little more context, this artist had Thinking Bout Forever (Frank Ocean’s Thinkin Bout You) and built an entire album around that. To which Frank snatched it back because he wanted Bey to have it but ended up keeping it himself. Could you imagine Bey singing Thinkin Bout You? I’ve been thinking about that since this morning.

They certified Rennie platinum today

It's been a good 2+ weeks for the album. It's topping so many lists and being praised more than when it came out.

I love the hive certified video! BMS has always been and remains top tier for me.

I also love she's getting her flowers with all this acclaim. :alexz: Now time to snatch AOTY thank uuu

It's definitely going to either be a tough challenger for AOTY, or it will win AOTY.

Have we considered the possibility that she’s battling a serious illness privately? I could see her having cancer and we’d never know

????????????????????????????????????????????????????

She has some momentum currently…

Now would be an amazing time to drop the visuals…

Wait, I didn't know NME named Cuff It the best song of the year

I don't like this energy.

Complaining about rollout is fine. But talking about illness triggers me for some reason.

I’m sorry. I’ve read what I said back just now and realized how gross it is.

Who is the artist?

I want Frank (and Chris Martin) to write more for Bey.  They make magic!

People are reading way too much into the "remain calm" thing. It's just a lyric.

They 100% knew what they were doing tho. Aint ****

Now y’all can’t complain about the complainers wanting visuals and then insinuate she has a serious illness like cancer in need of palliative care. This era is really in the pits of hell. :rip:

It's almost worth it for all the conjecture. It's hilarious to me every time :deadbanana4:

Imagine if the HBO Max tea is real and Bey signed a deal for Summer 2023 for the visuals while expecting fans to just wait like they did before with The Gift/Black Is King but now they are screwed since the fans are not as patient as last time and are currently begging for them and losing their cool….

a nightmare scenario
