I really want beyonce, her own version of OFF THE WALL with real instruments only. We need her to challenge late 70s JACKSON 5 and Pre-multiple nose jobs MJ. Imagine an album full of LOVE ON TOP and COUNT DOWN, but with B'day aggression, sass and attitudes

Those songs sound more Thriller than OFF THE WALL for me. Both tracks have those dancy post-disco feel to them!!! We need another dance album from her, **** THE JOINT ALBUM!

What if the visuals/documentary thingy will come Q1 or Q2 next year and launch with the rumored Apple VR/AR headset?? Apple entering the space will be the biggest news for the industry and shift the market. If bey is the star launch for it it could be epic? 

 

These are rumored to be more focused as a mixed reality headset than a more Metaverse style approach too. 

 

Edit: one of the main rumors about the apple VR thing is that they are developing a "video service"

Girl adele didn't win any AMAs and we know she is getting a couple of grammys. The AMA is not a precursor to the grammys

The AMAs, best I recall, are similar to the Billboard Awards in that a lot of the winner's are pre-empted by sales. Grammys (presents) as more of a critical/elite thing that part-factors commercial success in but marches to its own beat (for better or worse) So, we'll..see.

oh I didn't mean that. I just meant Beyonce only winning in rnb and losing everything else. She lost to an old album re release in the pop category.

Yes but RENAISSANCE being a default R&B album that sweeps the categories is very on brand for these shows.

Even if she doesn't win general field categories, I think she has the dance categories on lock so it should be a good night for her. We'll see! 

 

Hot take: I think BMS was the perfect lead for Renaissance. Despite hitting number one I know a lot of people feel like it was a missed opportunity to go for something catchier that could have been a bigger hit (like AS or CI). I think it's the most obvious tribute to ball culture and to the queer POC of that era on the album, and for a song like that to have been on radios in 2022 I think was a big deal. I'm glad she went with it even if it's not the catchiest or more digestible song on the album. If anything I wish that sound was more at the forefront on Renaissance (that's what I was expecting), though I think the album is near-perfect as it is.

Agreed! 

 

I personally just get annoyed that outside of critics her albums don't tend to get that UNIVERSAL appreciation from award shows like some other artists.
