Lemonade (this album has always been blah and the streams prove it. Thank God she had the movie/story/Formation to make it a huge success)

In terms of consistent numbers in the Anglosphere, sure. MJ’s celebrity put him over the top. Taylor isn’t even close, like 20% if that. To her credit though- the monoculture thing is real. Celebrity back then (and really up until the internet but more so social media) was so much more consolidated and those select few felt so much larger than life. There’s a million celebs now, a million ways to consume media, everyone is in their own subgroup etc so it truly is impossible for anyone to be at that level.

Technically yes, Planet Her is bigger than any Nicki album/era But Nicki was much bigger during her debut era. She was a real superstar with true cultural impact. Doja is just the current hit girl, her celeb isn’t that big and she’s not making any impact with her songs/rap/style.

Adele EASILY. This isn’t even a competition. Those 3 songs are responsible for 50 million albums SOLD on top of the tens of millions they sold themselves as singles. ATRL truly is on a diff planet lol.

That journalist is probably right…. An acoustic album could be amazing (it’s such a vague term…there could be a ton of diff genres on there) so I’m definitely excited about that. The JayZ album? I don’t really care because we’ll have gotten 2 albums and Ren is amazing and among her absolute best, so whatever. But really? Like why lol. EIL was garbage for the most part. They DO have a handful of truly amazing songs (CIL, DV, UU, and DIL being the top 4) so you never know but yeah…. What I’m most worried about is the tour. I do not want OTR3. I can’t. I’ll be upset about that. The FWT was literally miles above OTR 1 and 2.

It’s really a hopeless situation over there. No matter how much either side says they’ll do xyz to fix the problem it’s just not gonna happen. A large majority of the homeless is on drugs and it’s basically impossible to fix that. It’s hard enough to get clean (and many/most still don’t/struggle for life) when you have money, support and all the things, so how is it gonna work for the homeless? Taxing rich people, building shelters, jail etc all these things will accomplish nothing.

Stop giving this show so much attention lol. The Grammys have always been a mess.
