I'm actually happy no one says anything about Dreamgirls because that has silently amassed 4M+ units WW, and because B is on more than 50% of all tracks on all editions (and Listen has outsold every other track multiple times over thanks to longevity via global talent shows), it is now counted as an additional album of hers on Chartmasters. (The soundtrack was also released in partnership between Mathew Knowles' Imprint and Beyonce's parent label Columbia . Surprised it wasn't denoted "Beyonce & Various Artists" in terms of crediting from the very beginning.)

The quality of the album and personal patience has tided me over during this bizarre-a** drought, but when she finally presses the green button we are owed an onslaught of activity. Or, at the very least, nicely sewn in seeds for what's coming down the line. 

 

Whether we like it or not "where are the visuals?" has become an integral part of the current "story" around the album and is "the" reason a lot of folk are hanging on to the era rather than moving on. Even if dragging her while doing so. Especially in this time of declining attention-pans.

 

Not delusional, so I don't think it's an intentional promo strategy (something for sure went left behind the scenes), but I guess what I'm saying is that giving people things to hook onto and stay invested in the era works whether intentional or not. If going slow and steady is the plan or intended pace of the era, then yeah she'd be smart to end every piece of what's incoming on a cliff-hanger of sorts.
