  • It was the best concert of my life, bar none. Idc!    It was extraordinary, it was ineffable.  I knew I loved it based on the videos but I... Hey I don't know.    Best moment

I know this award is a joke but the point is, she has cemented herself in history with the likes of Whitney and Lauryn. And on top of that she won an award for a genre that completely ridiculed and ex

I'm not buying $100 for VR glasses to watch music videos and I'm a stan let alone the GP

It's always cool to innovate even if flops. Not sure if I believe that however.

But I agree with the sentiment here, if true, as long as an accessible version exists.

14 weeks in and CI still hasn't grown on me. The only song. It's such a struggle for me to finish it. I do like the instruments and the chorus, not much else it's definitely my bottom song.

Thinking about it, the only way the VR thing really works is if she finds a way to make it accessible to everyone. Some kind of low/accessible price-point for tech that ultimately isn't cheap. Finding a way/partner to pull that off would be the real innovation/flex.

Anything beyond that in relation to VR, needs to be "in addition" rather than "definitive".

I think it's apparent she's using new technology for the film.  All of the information we've had has stated as such, since well before the album was announced.

Remember that tech company saying she was going to own everything at the end of 2021?  And then the album was ultimately pushed back to 2022

I’m definitely thinking that the VR project is just gonna be an extra way to experience the visuals. The teaser she dropped on youtube clearly shows that it will be a film with multiple music video’s and that it will be widely available for the public to consume on some type of streaming service. My issue with this whole VR project is that it might be the reason why the visuals are gonna be so insanely late…

At this point I dont accept anything less than me being warped into the MVs and her making me feel as if im creating the MVs with her. Like give me that 5d experience

I have mixed feelings about the metaverse/VR theory for the visuals

- where are y'all getting the 100$ figure from? It's a couple hundred and not even accessible to buy everywhere.

- it's just not accessible and will limit the experience to very few people unless there is a different twist to it like some AR thing we can even use our phones to experience

- it could be a truly revolutionary experience and change the game "technically" (cuz if the GP doesn't access it it'll be muted in its impact)

- unfortunately I don't think bey cares about accessibility as much as changing the game. Lemonade and streaming. EIL. Tidal. She literally is the face for tiffany, the opposite of accessiblility...

- I still kinda trust her so let's see

This era so unnecessarily stressful ?

I'd much prefer she executes innovation within the parameters of what is still widely accessible. Something along the lines of the interactive / open world version of Black Mirror they did. It would be first of its kind for a music video experience (at least in the mainstream) while still "do-able" for everyone at home.

I don't know how many people would even remember this but Trey Songs & Nicki Minaj had a "choose your own adventure" music video for their song "Touchin Lovin" back in... was it 2015? 2016?

I think a VR experience is a great idea, but they need to make sure it's accessible and have the non-VR version look and feel equally impressive.

Should we get excited again? :coffee2:

This goes all the way back to late-2020 rumors of her doing a virtual reality because of the COVID shutdown. That rumor also coincided with her doing a dance album 2 whole years before Renaissance was even released so they could be an ounce of legitimacy to it.

VR is niche, but I think in 2023 we will see a larger set of adoption for VR experiences. Apple will announce their VR headset which will propel the industry to new heights. Playstation releases their PSVR2. Meta just announced Meta Quest Pro and Quest 3 will release in 2023. Jay knows a lot about crypto, dumb metaverse ****, so I wouldn't be surprised if he brainwashed her with some ideas. She's also very tech literate and wants to push boundaries/constantly researches innovative things. It's just the inevitable step for her to up her visuals into VR because literally everyone will be doing it whether it's now or in 20 years. At this point, the Reneigh visuals isn't going to pull huge numbers like it should have if it were to drop 3 months ago. I'd rather have her receive praise for doing something new, outstanding, and at least the #'s can be blamed on the fact that it's a niche market. Imagine if she dropped a visual experience with an Apple Music deal and Apple is scheduled to show off their product in Q1 2023. They obviously need support in the entertainment sector, this product is propped up to be the next 'iPhone' moment for them. The timing is right before the tour.:celestial5:

What if when you open the film on Netflix, it's a dollhouse like the one she's looking at in the teaser and you can select a room aka a song, or you can choose to go through the entire experience all the way through :giraffe:

It's a way to be able to come back and watch individual videos easily without removing the uninterrupted full length visual from the equation

This is exactly what I’ve pictured, and the dollhouse is her mind, escaping.

You can get $99 headsets that work will smartphones. That’s the most accessible way for people to purchase.
