top row kinda eats bottom row up  she used to put her best work at the beginning but I feel like self-titled onward she started to make proper "intro" songs for her projects.

it's tuff picking between Crazy in Love, Deja Vu and Love on Top like... let me say Love on Top but Deja Vu is a very close second.

Why is Lost Yo Mind her best b'day track?

Still waiting for Bey to remember all the B'Day bonustracks from Back Up to Lost To Mind and release them on streaming. She might aswell add a Woman Like Me from the Pink Panther to it as bonus aswell :jonny:

U can always make a case for someone winning, but don't act like there isn't an agenda at hand that influences the way they vote. Be real here. I didnt say Baptiste was trash tho.

I hope y’all know this is punishment for y’all forcing Cuff It as a 2nd single instead of her fav, and the only real undeniable smash on the album, Church Girl.

We could’ve had visuals, performances maybe even interviews by now but you people allowed TikTok ruin it

:lmao:I love your optimism.

As if she would have graced us with a video.

The album would have also dropped out of the top 10 in the US and would stayed out of some international charts without Cuff It.

Just thinking about all the losers who went and made a petition to keep Beyoncé from Blank Panther as if Queen was even interested to start with... I hope those keyboard warriors are actively listening that Wakanda Forever's soundtrack. Because there's not a single song bar Rihanna's with 100k streams so far.

The album is all over the place and lacks the direction that The Gift or the first BP's soundtrack had.

It surely could have benefitted from Bey's musical production genius.

I wonder if bey will drop the visuals during the bloodmoon next week, like sony is dropping god of war earlier to match it :ihype:

They tried Bey so much! I actually have slight PTSD about it all (I joke...ish). I'm of Afro heritage and was so excited for The Gift / BIK as a moment. So could not believe how much of the negativity came from actual...Black people. A lot of narrow mindedness from the West and also from parts of the Motherland too.

Afrobeats is DOMINATED by West African music. Specifically Nigerian artists. Wizkid, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Davido. Basically a lot of the people Bey included. She also included a lot of South African major names too. Yet people from other countries were all of a sudden holding Bey to a super strict standard, sprouting the usual short-sighted capitalist spiel) and bemoaning why "their artists" weren't involved. Bear in mind, your average Afrobeats fan (from Africa) has ZERO clue about local stars from smaller markets. But somehow Bey is supposed to just because she's spotlighting Afrobeats. It was so wildly unfair, particularly when the moaners literally are in the club turning up to the VERY acts Bey recruited (instead of / over their local town heroes). Make it make sense?!

Bey is not exempt from blame, though. The overall handling of The Gift, especially in relation to the film's soundtrack was mismanaged.

IMO, it would have benefitted from either coming BEFORE the film (as the first musical taste of the movie and having BIK come after as a complimentary piece. Not a year though lol). Or just simply should have been the definitive soundtrack for the film full stop. Although, I I feel like Disney wouldn't have permitted that as they did a like-for-like remake so the original songs had to be central in it.

Hindsight is, of course, 20/20, but I wish Bey did The Gift (idea) for this upcoming Lion King prequel (Scar) instead. As it's essentially a new story with new characters, I think she would have had much more freedom to have her project be "the" soundtrack. Or better yet, saved the concept for Black Panther. Much more on-brand and, like I said, comes with way more freedom being an original set of films. The music would get lots of exposure being placed throughout the movie. I love Rih, but that song is so wack. So, seeing it get the all-out treatment and a likely #2 debut when essentially every song on The Gift is 10x better and way more deserving is a little annoying. Like, Spirit is way (way) more befitting.

All that said, because the girls are always so ready to lunge at Bey for anything overtly pro-Black (but clap for others when they do a fraction of it), I think she should be content with her efforts to date on that front (The Gift, BIK, Black Parade) and maybe go real mainstream with her next movie song (Avatar, Bond, etc). From the perspective of leaning into her mass-appealing status, avoid being categorized as niche (see: only carted out for Black films), and c) avoid being unfairly critiqued by the very people she's trying to uplift. BTW, I mean this specifically about soundtrack / extra curricular songs. She will absolutely continue to spotlight Blackness, its imagery, and empowerment in her art and I want it/love her for that.

Positive ChriZ input today:

As much as her marketing sucks and non-promotional attitude irks me, Bey is by FAR the best Pop artist of our generation. No gimmicks needed, constantly serving quality and amazing music, outlasting any- and everybody. She truly is the GOAT of our gen. Taylor could sell 50 million more and it wouldnt change a thing. Beys truly in her own lane and its honestly super impressive to see her slay like that.

Last week Hive was saying one say they hope TG gets its flowers. With the way that other soundtrack is performing, I think she'll get them soon.
