I dont know about that. They also know how big a moment like this would be and how much coverage it would get. Beyonce losing yet again with Taylor achieving something historic is a media dream, much more so than Bey winning a long-overdue award and collecting her 30th Grammy or so.

They love their big moments. Thats why Bey won like 3 Grammys for Black Parade and Savage so that the headlines could be "most Gramms wins by any singer male or female"

 

At this point id rather her lose all Genre specific awards and just win AOTY. It would be the icining on the cake when it comes to the Grammies and so deserved

Taylor winning AOTY again will be HUGE backlash, even more than when she won over Kendrick. She and Beyoncé are in the same boat of constantly being "overrated".

 

She gets hit with that alot on Reddit from the usual locals.

 

I don't see her getting another AOTY, but they're still not giving it to Beyoncé

Yes but it seems like Bey is trying to move away from music and have a yeezy/skims/fenty/ type side hustle that explodes. The problem is nothing has stuck yet. If Ivy was doing Yeezy type sales I don't think she would give a damn about a visual album. She would record, drop, and stay home the entire time.

What's so delicious about this is that, outside of a sudden tank-ation, this will steadily build. Meaning even if radio doesn't give her the multi-format slay it did with BMS, even Urban/Rhyth success will carry this high.

Watched Black Is King again last night and she’s def making us pay for not giving that masterpiece enough attention. I know she’ll release Renaissance visuals someday, but we’ll have to wait for that

While I don't know if that's the case, I do often think about BIK and her psyche in the aftermath. 

 

Objectively, it's her best visual piece ever. It's also a huge step up for her in terms of scale and the theatrical aspect of her "visual albums". Same on the budget front too. 

 

And yet it probably had the most muted response (compared to say Lemonade and ST). 

 

Realistically there isn't one fixed reason for that. There are loads. Some not her fault (the newness of the platform, not where her demographic lives) and some very much so her fault (dropping the videos a year later and not promoting). 

 

Whether she's dialled into the reasons or not, I do wonder what SHE thinks of its performance and how overlooked it all is given how much she poured into it. 

 

It may be conjecture, but she interestingly cleared house after BIK. From management to creatives. Which in one regard I like (she seems to have a commitment to keeping her setup fresh) but in another regard makes me worry she's not plugged into some of the reasons BIK didn't do what it needed to. 

 

Anyway, one thing I'm really excited about from Bey post BIK is that it's a given that her visual output will at a MINIMUM be on par with it and most likely will be better. Placed on the right platform and released at the right time (...), she'll be winning. Should that happen (which I sense it will), BIK becomes her 4 (visually speaking). That underrated gem of a project that retrospectively was VERY necessary in its existence for everything that came after it.

It would be good buzz for her German dates but it probably isn’t true.

Because she's not MEANT for that ****  Imagine Michael having a sneakers line or a suit line. It doesn't work. She's KNOWN as a brilliant musician and entertainer, not a muse or "it girl". Dereon showed us years ago that it just won't work with her image. She needs to EMBRACE being a larger than life popstar so she can rake in the money she deserves and not need an extra brand. Her publishing and streaming revenue is too low for her being THEE artist right now. That graph from the other day had me shook.

I would say Find Your Way Back, Otherside, Nile, Bigger, Water and Ja Are E rival Don't Hurt Yourself, Hold Up, Pray, All Night, Love Drought and 6 Inch easily. Both her best non-renaissance project.
