i ******* love this, and i have been a HUGE phoebe hater i still think she's a shitty person but at least she owns it here, along with absolutely beautiful production, vocals, and songs.

Phenomenal production. What am I even supposed to say about the lyrics? Half-assed, phoned in, ambiguous to the point of meaning nothing? It'd be easier to enjoy this as an instrumental work so I'd ha

the reviews for those planetarium listening sessions. everybody unanimously agrees this is her best album, and includes her best lyrics.

from what I heard its musically diverse but still phoebe, with sounds ranging from folk to techno and experimental. So exciting!

Yall look at how stunning the vinyl is. The glossy finish is peakkk redface

blue banisters

Jack didn't touch Blue Banisters… which is part of the reason it's one of my absolute fav Lana albums (according to my last.fm it's actually my second most played Lana album), and why I prefer it, so drastically, over Chemtrails giraffe

dgmw, Chemtrails is cute and definitely more enjoyable than, say, Lust for Life (as a whole), but… yeah. Blue Banisters feel more raw and passionate in a way Chemtrails never quite gets to

anyway. my tea on Jack is that he can help albums be really excellent (Melodrama other than The Louvre which has always irritated me with its lame chorus, Masseduction being a pop/glam rock masterpiece other than Savior randomly being between the two emotional piano ballads for some godforsaken reason, Norman F*cking Rockwell! being a clear masterpiece, Folklore being great, Dance Fever being full of excellent anthemic pop rock…) but he can also weigh them down when the artists are not entirely certain of what they're trying to fully achieve (Sling, Solar Power, Chemtrails, Tortured Poet Society…) so yeah idk. lemme read some of what people have been saying about the album on Phoebe's subreddit ryan2

God these reviews have me so excited. I was randomly listening to Stranger in the Alps and Punisher earlier this year, and when the announcement was made it felt like fate.

Lost Boys killed my hype slightly, the song is fine, nothing great, but the reviews (specifically from The Guardian and Slant) have successfully reinvigorated me.

same here

for me it has been actually hard to believe that the reviews are this good based on the fact that we only heard LB and it isn't as good as it could be...

I'm not excited at all because I didn't like Lost Boys. I mean it's cute but not big comeback material and very lacking lyrically compared to her previous first singles.

I went to the planetarium show last night and just based on hearing the album once, Lost Boys was actually my least favourite track. I guess she chose it because it was one of the two most upbeat songs, but if you didn't like that single, definitely don't worry that it is a representation of the entire album. it's a deeply moving album and I was blown away.

That makes me excited again, thank you!

The critics score in AOTY is insane wtf? deadbanana Is it that good or are they being paid? keir

she really needs an entire country/americana album, the way graceland too and haunted are her career highlights

It's really hard to put into words exactly how I feel about this album. It's not something you can FULLY take in on the first listen, but there isn't a single song I don't like and some parts genuinely shook me! It doesn't feel like Punisher at all even though they share some of the same sonic textures here and there and obviously nothing like Stranger in the Alps.

so it's not as dull as Lost Boys makes it seem?

Anyone go to the planetarium shows?

Saw it last night in Vancouver, so many people were crying by the end of it and everyone clapped when the credits started.

This is by far one of the best albums of the year, if not the best. I'm not even exaggerating.

i think lana was pissed and stove took so long because jack kept getting booked to spend so many sessions making music for literally everyone phoebe bridgers, troye sivan, his own album, sabrina, taylor, kendrick lamar etc.

and she couldn't just call him up and be like "jack im coming over to record" for the past few years

he did his thing on this phoebe bridgers album my mind literally exploded i love it so much but i can imagine lana fuming that he was spending so much time working with everyone else

and wasn't there whenever she called up because we know she likes to be posessive with her men and i can tell from the tone on her last ig post mentioning her collaborators that this is the case... so i blame him but also thank ü jack for this phoebe alboom but it's time to get your ass back in the studio to finish godna's double album

but this is aoty

I'm listening right now.

The opener is unexpected.

Lost Boys works way better in the album than as standalone.

Kill Me Is starting and wow... Just wow.

Listening now. This record is already destroying me girls, I haven't even finished it yet.

She has done it again. I can't say much now because I'm literally in my feelings.
