Ryan Murphy reading that summary already preparing the script for this to be randomly turned into an American Horror Story spin-off and then finding out that the single one male character is holding hands with a female and there's really no way to shoehorn shirtless scenes

Japan treats women so horribly.

That's why Japanese women were dragging Japanese men trying to look good for the cameras cleaning up after a world cup match when they act like grimy cheating incels at home

No way this is still happening in 2026. So called first world countries Japan and Korea but always treat their women like trash

It's not different to that Iranian singer who was ordered 74 Lashes

The whole idol industry in Japan/China/Korea is terrifying to me. Imagine being pressured and gaslit into shaving your head then being kicked out of your group because you held hands with a fan in public deadbanana

so when she does it, it's a mark on how terrible of a country Japan is, but when Britney does it, we put her in a conservatorship? oh ok

jk fk the idol industry

The fact that she got in the group in 2024, promoted to regular member in 2025 and was fired in 2026, that's a speedrun for the books. rip

The whole situation seems a bit fishy from both sides tho, the fact that she had a lawyer ready to go and was only speaking with the company through the lawyer and not straight with them is a bit weird considering how this works in the idol world, and I saw some people speculating that the shaved her head in a way to pressure the company to keep her for the sake of not having another scandal again, since back then Minami shaved her head and was kept in the group. Don't know if DH would be this dumb to pressure one member to shave their head after the international backlash they suffered 10 years ago. As for holding hands/dating scandal, I still don't know why these men and women put themselves through all the troubles to become an idol, knowing that this is one of the main rules not to break. rip

Edit: Just to make clear, I think this whole thing is very abusive and I think these women should live the way they want, just trying to add context to the situation.

It's a shame to see that the jpop idol industry hasn't changed too much over the years…

The idol industry really has not progressed anywhere. One has to wonder why women even want to deal with all the bullshit that comes from being an "idol", which in itself is such an antiquated concept.

I hate this part of idol culture. The way these idols are not able to enjoy their success like a human being, cos there will be horde of fans who will get offended or even get extreme by trying to hurt them physically, is stressing to me. Fans who get mad that their faves are dating is just insane behavior to me, no matter how you put it.

you cannot date, its a GOLDEN RULE. such a crybaby!

The first post makes her sound annoying tbh, and apparently they never asked her to shave her head

Btw, things got even worse. The girl is not doing well mentally and she's taking everything and everyone down. However, people are claiming that her lawyer is a joke, not a good one. So we'll have and wait to see the next chapter.

These industries need to be investigated and people should go to jail. What she's describing sounds like human trafficking. Why the **** is she not allowed to have a relationship? What kind of labour laws allow for this? Musicians really are so terrible at advocating for themselves, so many of us just accept anything for the chance to make music for a living and have an audience.

Why the **** is she not allowed to date? how the **** is not being allowed to date a prerequisite for being a musician? I think you need to get your head examined if you think this is acceptable.

See? This is why we need Beyonce in Asia. These girls need some female empowerment.
