TTPD outlasted HMHAS on Billboard. Surprised?

Featured Replies

Despite its high algorithm-driven streaming velocity, HMHAS was ultimately unable to outlast TTPD on the Billboard 200. Two years later, the #2-peaking album is still haunted by its original gatekeeper. Are you surprised?

Everyone knows its success is on Spotify only that's why Billie is nowhere to be seen in Apple Music's Top 20 biggest artists.

Or it's because she has a smaller discography relative to other artists that made the list and has one album that did great during it's peak Trolls used to try harder

HMHAS is only bigger on Spotify and a couple countries like France and Denmark, so no surprise

Taylor currently has the #1 song in the United States, while Billie hasn't released new material since HMHAS. I am personally shocked to see her latest efforts not ascending to the top of the charts - for example, Eternal Sunshine (also two years old), climbed up to #27 after Ariana's most recent #1, and it did so without 31 tracks.

I see that The Life of a Showgirl is yet to return to the top 10 as well. What's going on?

Only one had an accompanying tour documentary released a few weeks ago, and it wasn't The Tortured Poets Department.

Although, given how it performed, it's hardly shocking you'd want to forget it.

autoplay can only get an album so far tbh.

everybody and their momma could've told you that despite the spotify gimmicks, tortured poets is a way bigger album than hit me hard and soft.

There are several artists with only 6 albums that made the cut and she's bigger than them in the public's perception and she has bigger singles and albums! Stans used to have better defense. Try harder!

eternal sunshine climbed cause it got new variants and cause of the tour launch, two things you would be crying about as they would shoot Taylor to #1 toofunny3

TTPD has reached the stage of the album life cycle where Taylor most excels - the long term, after about two years when she's moved onto a new era. I don't think that says anything negative about HMHAS, a brilliant, exceptionally successful album - but it just demonstrates Taylor's long-term staying power in the US.

YouTube Music:

Hit Me Hard And Soft (10 songs): 3.806B streams

Tortured Poets Department (31 songs): 1.424B streams

Why do y'all have to lie though?

HMHAS, a 10 track album, outstreamed your fave's 31 track album on the #1 music platform and some of you have never been able to recover.

I mean this. There's nothing to brag about. Albums with a lot of tracks will do more if there is the same ammount of demand because of the equivalent units rule. When Drake does the same thing they call it cheating

You know it's bad when you have to resort to YouTube

You know it's bad when you have to attempt to discredit both Spotify and YouTube, the two most consumed streaming platforms.

Considering how TTPD outlasted it on IFPI and all main markets, everyone discredited those platforms too

Such an embarrassing thread. TTPD wouldn't even be Top 100 if it didn't have 30+ tracks at this point

if your logic is right, billie should also not be on the most streamed artist list on spotify as well, but she's there in top 10...

Umm lying again? HMHAS charted for two years on IFPI's top 10 albums, TTPD did not. deadbanana2

Not really. TTPD is stronger on Apple music, Amazon music.

Billie has literally not released music in over two years. Taylor has never done this ever + HMHAS is outselling globally.

No matter how you try putting it TTPD will never be bigger than HMHAS deadbanana2
