No judgement, just genuinely fascinated by this entire culture

I feel like in the past few years, a big chunk of gays who are really attractive have turned to twitter/OF/other forms of exhibitionism to make money and sustain themselves and now there's an entire ecosystem of it. Do they have normal jobs? Is it possible to get one after doing this? I wonder what dating is like for them?

just curious what you guys think. I have a friend who was really known in LA for being very attractive and doing modeling, and then he got a BF and they made an onlyfans together. Same with another one of my friends. I don't ask much about it bc it just doesn't come up but I am so curious to discuss!

It varies on how well their content performs. I don't think that creators like this will typically disclose if they have another job for privacy reasons and also because it can ruin the fantasy.

It seems very stressful tbh. I would rather get paid for something easy like live streaming myself picking my nose. I'm sure someone out there would be into that

for me it didn't start with Twitter / OF.

instead, even before Twitter / OF, gay guys who are attractive, or young, or both, are offered money in private DMs ALL THE TIME.

and some of those gay guys NEVER think of dating. They are just hustlers 24/7 🤑

So to me social media + OF created a perfect mix to give a plaftorm and enable that specific type of hustler, and to reward them for it more than any other sexual worker has been rewarded before

a lot of them end up incredibly depressed / taking their lives / regret it and many people refuse to speak about it

There's a wholeeeee lot of exploitation happening on TikTok live, but no one has woken up that conversation yet.

The money the OF gays are making is NOTHING compared to the women.

They were already borderline sex addicts. They just realized they could make a profit from it now. Back then, anyone who did gay porn was lucky if they made $1500-$3000 per scene, so it was more a last resort/side gig. Now, you can make hundreds of thousands in a single year.

Ehh. If they can make some money using their looks, I say why not. Times are hard and one job is barely enough for the average individual.

Some of them have normal jobs but I suspect they use alts instead of their real names to ensure they don't lose them.

Obviously that doesn't always work because internet sleuths can track your address down in mere minutes.

The consensus is that many content creators experienced severe PTSD in childhood which leads them to this industry. The latter article I posted even shows that 69% of respondents had attempted suicide of the 120 that were researched.

I don't have one but I'm featured in one or two.

I think it's extremely time consuming and quite crass to be constantly begging people to pay to see u naked.

I def dont need the money and I have a great career, so its not about that. I can understand how it becomes all-consuming for some people and it becomes a much bigger time-investment
