Is Gen Z aging quicker than normal?

Featured Replies

Am I the only one who sees Gen Z aging far quicker than usual. I literally was looking at guy named Jack Gentry think he is like 35+ only to find out he is four months younger than me. I have not a crow foot or wrinkle in sight but, some of these girls look like 35+ with full blown skin damage and forehead wrinkes. Hell, I was shocked Tumblr's past favorite male model and Survivor Michael Yerger was born in 1998.

Where is the youth? Hell, I literally followed a guy on X because I thought he was hot, only to find out he was 23 years old with a full-blown ***** stache, beard and skin one would think is from a 30+ year old.

Girls on these apps need to start asking for birth certificates because people are not looking their age.

No. Every millennial who ends up posting a picture to show how they look younger ends up getting dragged. I don't know why some people see a mustache and a hat and go that's a 40 year old man.

is this the atrl version of millenials saying they still look like teenagers and posting videos to emabarass themselves?

  • the haglennials lashing out in this thread omg… just old nasty and bitter

That Michael guy probably sues steroids hence looking older.

Also they look older becuase they are dressing older. Have you seen the atrocity in jeans they wear

Yes. Gen X absolutely looks older than they are imo. Maybe bc of way they dress?

its the stress. im turning 26 in two months and i was told i look like im in my mid 30s online.

we have to grow up in front of access to footage and the knowledge that EVERYTHING in the world is going WRONG

i think it depends on individual genetics / environmental exposure

I feel like everyone I see nowadays looks like a child into their 30s, nobody looks mature anymore, so I have the opposite view of that

Me too. I'm about to be 26 and used to get asked if I'm 20-21 like 2 years ago and recently I got 28-30 online and irl rip

I think this is far fetched. My theory is it's how they style themselves. The way they do their hair, the way they dress (baggy, boring colors, kinda drab tbh) etc. contributes to them looking older. If they changed some things up, they'd look the same as milennials.

Are u blind?

It's the opposite. Look at videos and pictures of kids in high school in the 80s and they look older than literally full grown 20-30 year olds these days

Well that guy is on steroids of some kind which will age you, but in general I don't understand the obsession with having zero wrinkles or no smile lines. You are a man rip Men look like men, not little boys.

it's just easy access to styling tips through tiktok, even my twitter which should be exclusively porn gets so much push on how to look good and the advice? use vaseline lol. It's crazy how little people used to actually know about taking care of yourself.

Everyone knows what to say to the barber. Everyone knows what jeans to get. Everyone knows what protein shake to make to follow the exact workout. Everyone knows what Dyson knockoff to get to get the perfect curl. It's just become really easy to be a stylish grown up. I mean damn, there's an autistic gay boy who has a huge straight teen boy following for his looks (Clavicular). People don't look older. They look more stylish at a younger age and your brain is interpreting it incorrectly

This was a huge thing with your generation as well btw, except the cause was stylish girls exclusively back then, and I remember it vividly. Everyone was saying young girls looked way older because of bold make-up, bold fashion choices, etc. Instagram, tumblr and pinterest taught girls how to style themselves, for boys it's finally happened through tiktok

I think the overuse of steroids and cosmetic producedures is definitely aging a lot of people.

It could also be that online we're = so used to seeing people with photo editing/filters that when we see them in person we're like "woah your face does not look that smooth.. you look old asf."

I have a head full of thick lustrous hair and no visible aging lines at 30 and I've seen 20 year olds almost completely bald and with lots of wrinkles. But then again, they're smokers and I quit smoking about a decade ago — I think that's the main reason, specifically, doesn't matter if it's vaping or regular cigarettes, it'll ruin your body. Smoke weed instead.

Yes. And people have been saying this irl before the internet started talking about it. Most gen z here will never accept it tho but all other gens can see it. And it's not that milenials look younger yall just look a lot older.

The only "real" cases of pre-mature aging in Gen Z men that I know of is more widespread use of steroids or HGH than in previous generations. Those do age you, or at least give you that "aged" face if you start them while you're young. Other than that, they age just like any other generation. Aging is not something you're in control of, even if the multi billion dollar industry behind consumer cosmetics and aesthetic surgery would like to make you believe that you are. It's 99% genetics and some people can use all the creams, lotions, and sun screen they want and they will visibly "age" quicker than others.

So yeah. Just like everything else in life, it's relative. Except for the steroids thing. That DOES make you age faster in the face.
