It's doing worse than Manchild. Go see what ATRL was saying about that

It's an undeniable hit, although it's definitely had a slower start than her other leads I think it's because of the timing of the release.

It will still be a big hit to add to her catalogue. clap

It's actually not though… it's an okay song that is only really smashing because of Olivia's immense popularity. Like if this was her first lead instead of Drivers License she never would have taken off…

Significantly worse (gap of a full million the day before this) and yet Atrl suddenly thinks this is a hit

It actually is though, look at its chart run so far.

An undeniable hit. Your whole paragraph is about your feelings in relation to Olivia, I'm talking strictly about numbers here. rip

It's obviously not showing signs of being a stable hit but it might have longevity like Manchild

The argument against drop dead being a hit being... "the song is smashing because Olivia is a popular artist"? rip

Well it's Hot 100 chart run so far will be #1, 4, 3. not too shabby and that already makes it a hit.

now go back to your mom's basement before she hears you crying celestial3

Sad Tears GIF by Olivia Rodrigo

This kinda confirms she'll never match her peak, especially reheating the same nachos over and over. It's a moderate hit At best.

Mad because all the payola in the world can't get Elizabeth Taylor into the top 200 on Spotify.

Elizabeth Taylor = 24 weeks on the Hot100

Good luck with that !

I can't call it a hit but I cannot call it a flop either

It's just...there

The song is a hit... but because of Olivia's popularity not because of the song itself... do you not understand that concept?

That argument is only valid on the first week, mayyyyybe the second one too. Otherwise, are we expecting every single song on the album to be performing at a similar baseline level and only the great songs (according to you) would go further? There's no reason they would perform differently if it's not because of the song but because of Olivia's popularity.

I mean I've seen ATRL called flop songs hits and this is a #1, 3 weeks in the top 5, solo, already crossed 100 million but since alglvdgg667 has not heard it at their local coffee shop that only play certified hits it's a flop

It's a hit in America.

Billboard #3 (+1)

Spotify: #3 (-1)

Apple Music: #15 (+2)

POP Radio: #9

Pretty much. I actually really like the song but if we're using ATRL's response to Manchild as a reference, this song is not a hit.

It's a B tier hit. It's already dropping dead despite being an anticipated new release, high profile MV, tons of variants, SNL, and the tour sale.

Ok but in the real world, Manchild is objectively a hit and so is Drop Dead. We still have to give it a chance to actually do its thing after the initial hype and diminishing promo.
