ooooh this is actually baddd... Like I thought they had potential after songs like Gabriella but that Hootie Frutti song and Pinky Up are just abysmal. Even that Brooke Candy demo people were spreading claiming to be bought by them sounds better than those. Bel Air got massacred by them too with the song feeling soulless and boring now. That Way and Animal are actually fine.

Bel Air is the only chop of this EP, the rest is great. Hootie Frutti has everything to hit, the best song of this era I fear.

This entire EP is kinda a chop. Pinky Up and Hootie Frutti are bops. I kind of love how trash the lyrics are.

But everything else is just lacking. They ruined Bel Air from Charli's demo. It feels just mostly flat. The other songs just lack energy including Lara's song.

They're so mediocre, seriously. The A&R work here is basically nonexistent, they're just passing around bad, dated, old demos

And vocally, they don't help either. Their voices are extremely basic and generic

idk why people want them to do vocal-heavy songs… it just doesn't resonate if they can't sing about individual experiences, and their vocal skills are very overrated

like they need to keep making bops and stop trying ballads

Why would anyone want ballads or "deep" songs from 5 hot girls who are perfect dancers too? There are so many of artists for that kind of music, and most of them are not all rounders like these girls. KATSEYE's members are show girls, they truly shine when a song allows them to put on a 360 show.

PINKY UP, Hootie Frutti and Gnarly really allow them to showcase their talent as performers and I hope they'll keep making that kind of party music.

Personal taste aside, and since it just came out, Hootie Frutti completely obliterates Animal as the latter is really an interchangeable beige track that could have been sung by many, many artists.

Hootie Frutti provides something different, it properly takes inspiration from latin music (particularly from Brazil) and evolves it while including a sprinkle of K-Pop and electronic music. Same thing applies to PINKY UP, it took eurodance and updated it with contemporary K-Pop elements.

the team behind Katseye is truly the worst in the business, my god.. it's like every move this group makes works against them, and it's so obvious?? like at this point i'm convinced it's some sort of self-sabotage going on behind the scenes

Now in saying that - Hootie Frutti will be receiving some streams from me, because lucky for them I like ear terrorism when it's mixed with cunty visuals and choreography (hopefully)
