Because it's exactly how he said. He doesn't think Diddy is a bad guy because he never "experienced anything bad" with him. It's a ridiculous mindset. Because we all show certain versions of ourselves to people.

Outside of the reasons of him being "scared", I think this is just a case of a black man supporting another black man. Just like how Michael B Jordan rides for Jonathan Majors. If he was scared, why say anything?

Justin Bieber was obviously abused. You don't wind up looking like how he looks now just by becoming famous. There's no doubt in my mind that certain men had intercourse with Bieber against his will

So many in the Oscars party thread were adamant that Usher had no Diddy connection as it concerned Bieber despite the red flags.

But I think this is true, too. There's a complex and multi-layered history of Black men being scapegoated, and a lot of people feel as if they're betraying their people and past by piling on.

Diddy is very obviously not one of these cases, though... There are years of evidence and a trail of victims.

Not surprised. Never liked Usher so he's not losing any respect from me after this interview. What a weird hill to die on.

Sean has a lot of dirt on Usher (and vice versa) so he was never going to come out and denounce Sean, any way. And unfortunately, Sean isn't going to be in prison forever and will eventually be released so this is also Usher protecting himself and his family because he knows (as we all do) what Sean is capable of. Even from a prison cell Sean could send his people after Usher if word got back to him that Usher, who Sean has known since he was a minor, "betrayed" him. I'm no fan of Usher at all and never have been but it's smart if he chooses his words wisely.

The problem with public reception to this is the general public is going to treat this as a black man helping another black man that he feels is being scapegoated (Quote 1) when it reality Diddy is clearly blackmailing Usher for either witnessing and staying quiet or outright participating in one or several of his crimes (Quote 2).

Usher and Diddy are banking on Quote 1 working. The sad part is it likely will.
