I will say I think US propaganda, the expansion of capitalism with no restrictions and the influence of social media and misinformation has affected Europe as well. I'm amazed that some views that previously were unthinkable in my country have in the last couple of years started to gain traction among the population and disgusting far right politicians. I get it, it makes you feel hopeless that it's just nothing one can do about it and seems like we're headed to towards very dark and sad times for those of us in the bottom of the pyramid.

I mean I partially agree, but from my experience decades of USA propaganda has made people yearn for a us-lite system. It's very rooted in greediness and trumping over anyone and anything.
