Poly or monogamy? Why?

I think it is worth saying that a large percentage of gay relationships (if not the majority) are pretty standard "monogamous" relationships.

That's categorically false

Care to share your evidence with the class?

I don't know where you'd place a relationship with occasional, shared sexual encounters but that. It works perfectly fine for my bf & I, and there's no question of making time for another person since it's always spontaneous, e. g. with people we meet at parties. We both hate the "man catalog" aspect of apps such as G*****.

To even built a proper relationship with one person is already big for me personally. Multiple people sounds like a nightmare suburban

I'd prefer monogamy due to not wanting to split my time with other people.

Strictly monogamous. When I was single I couldn't even stand to do one night stands.

I will say though that alot of the people trying polyamory aren't even emotionally equipped to handle a relationship with one person, let alone multiple people simultaneously. Those people also tend to be the loudest advocates for it and I think they give polyamory a worse rep than it deserves.

Polyamory. It's just what works best for me and my partner. michael

I definitely think non-monogamy is the right thing for some people, but not me. I'm too jealous, and I don't have love/time/energy to be a fulfilling partner to multiple people at once psyduck

Open Relationship. Im not the jealous type.

Monogamy, almost 8 years together

correct

Monogamy is superior

Sure it's fun to flirt or whatever but there really is nothing quite like the deep connection you develop with someone and sharing things intimately outside of a physical context

In the gay male community, poly seems to be the way. Monogamy is often looked at among gay men as shocking or "unrealistic". Where do you land and why?

Actually, this is a big topic on our relationship right now.

We are monogamous since 19 years, married since 11 years.

My husband has some kinks, I do not like or I do not enjoy as he does. So we talked a lot. For me a poly relationship is not possible, I grow up very conservative. BUT I do love him so much. I spend my whole life with him... for me it is impossible to not try this. So... now we get opener and we will have an open relationship... time will tell if it is the right way.

Edit: sorry misunderstood the title... of course mono, cause if he would love other people I could not be okay with that.
