Gonna join a book club this year

I randomly started reading again recently actually, primarily to reduce screen time.

I struggle a lot with zoning out while reading, but I'm very happy to say that I managed to finish The Stand by Stephen King just a few days ago. The first half was quite slow, but the second half really carried. I manically read the last 700 pages in 2 days (which is complete miracle work for me). Just about to finish Carrie today as well.

Reading that so many of you enjoy Agatha Christie, I kinda felt an itch to order some of her books. I think she might be right up my alley.
Do ya'll have any recommendations of hers?

I'm reading Agatha Christie too. I feel like you can't go wrong with anything from her. The murder of Roger Ackloyd seems to be fan favorite.

I love reading and right now am in a good place, meaning I read a lot. I finished last week Andrew Miller's Land in Winter, witch I found good, at least parts of it. Might go back to it someday again.

Right now I'm reading a german book, in german, after a long time not reading german stuff. It's Die Ausweichschule from Kaleb Erdmann, he was shortlisted for German Bookerprice last year and I love the book. This one really got me into german books again do I will explore more. But got to be carefull, cuz reading in german makes me really tired and it can turn into a chore and no enjoyement

A book called Brat by Gabriel Smith I'm nearly finished though, it's been kinda meh. I kinda like crime books so idk what to read next

Never read Station Eleven but it sounds good

Really got into reading during the pandemic, but not so much these days due to work
I'm trying to easy myself back into the habit again by reading short stories on my Kindle, like this one at the moment
(ngl the cute cover caught my attention )

Each chapter is from the POV of a different character, but they are all living in the same neighborhood or somehow related to each other, which makes for a really one-of-a-kind reading experience tbh
(Warning in case someone wants to check it out: the book deals with various themes, ranging from fun & seemingly innocuous at the start to some pretty heavy stuff towards the end)

Not as much as I want to because I'm trying to write more of my own stuff, so I don't really have time for both.

But right now I'm reading Conventionally Yours, a cute gay romcom.

What's wrong with it? I think it's good to read a variety of genres, even the controversial books. I know this book does not necessarily advocate for ethical practices and a lot of toxic straight men preach it for their business and personal philosophies, despite it being a military treatise book, but it's still fascinating to read the original text. My next book is Machiavelli's The Prince and I know that one is long regarded as extremely unethical and ruthless.

yes, trying to read more. but, i kinda like to sit, digest and process the information so it kinda slows me down sometimes

Yes! Currently reading The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz. I received it as a Christmas gift by my colleague. A book is the best gift I can receive.

lately i been reading memories. Im done with the mariah,britney one (Crazily entertaining and you learn so much)
Need to get back to the will smith one. (So good to understand hip hop, african american life, the acting world and more)
I read mostly scientific stuff.
i like non fiction but im mostly about real life stuff, Books of all branchs of knowledge

When i was in middle-high school they forced me to read some really boring books

i've been waiting to read boy parts, heard so many great reviews of it

Last books I read I didn't and just heard the audible. "read" Jessica Simpson and Kevin Federlines books.

it's incredible! I went out for drinks with my friend who gave it to me (we swapped three books each: I gave her Under the Net by Iris Murdoch, Piranesi by Susanna Clarke, and The Will to Change by bell hooks! she gave me All About Love by bell hooks, Boy Parts of course, and Just Kids by Patti Smith) last night and we kept talking about it because it's one of her all time favs it's such a quick read for how intense it is
