Why do you have an iPad?

Featured Replies

I think I want an iPad, I'm not sure why though. I think to reduce my phone screentime.

Why do you have an iPad? What do you use it for?

  • maybe ipad time can distract him from vaping

  • iPads are ******* useless. I got one a few years ago and never used it. With a phone and a macbook there is just no use case for it.

Screen time is screen time, does it matter which screen is it? skull

I have an iPad because I use Procreate, and I also use it when I am cooking to open my cook books or for working/reading when I am traveling or in a cafe etc when it is more convenient than laptop. I was doubting at first whether I should get one or not but it was worth it for me.

Yeah I also bought one because I didn't want to overuse my new iPhone lol but 2 years later the phone battery's already terrible so..

Anyways I mostly use it to watch videos/movies when I don't want to use my TV, or when I don't feel like being on my phone

Reading mainly and sometimes for YouTube and Netflix

I've had an iPad for quite some time now and I use it as a second screen when I'm working from home, I also use Procreate a lot and it's easier to edit on CapCut there whenever I don't have immediate access to my laptop

This.

I just sold my iPad because I didn't used it for a year. If you have a MacBook an iPhone, you don't need an iPad except you use creative apps or need the pencil for uni etc.

I use it for photo and video editing primarily, it's my preferred device for those tasks in particular. The Apple Pencil just makes it so much funner and more efficient, and the iPad Pro's screen is absolutely gorgeous.

I also use the iPad to travel with as I don't like bringing my MacBook Pro because I have the 16 inch one - it's heavy and basically my entire life and livelihood is on it, and while I have backups of the SSD, the iPad is just so much lighter, more convenient, and it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if I lost it/got it stolen. Also, when hotels don't have chromecast, it majorly comes in clutch.

But overall, out of all my Apple products, it definitely gets the least use.

I only use my tablet for travel. Long haul flights are easier with your favorite tv shows and movies.

I use it for digital art and 3D sculpting mainly, but I also use it to watch movies etc. while I'm doing other stuff like cooking etc.

get an apple watch instead if your goal is to reduce your screentime

i use my ipad for uni, reading comics / manga, watching shows / films on long train journeys, gaming

I use my (Samsung) tablet for reading, watching things while cooking, or video game remote streaming

I use it for reading and watching film/tv/youtube, but the latter is just because I don't usually have access to a television. I also deleted most of my socials from my phone and only use them on my ipad as a means of reducing my usage of them.
