First rule with credit cards... always pay them off in full each month, and never ever exceed what you are comfortable with paying. If you don't have it in the bank... you cannot afford it.

I don't mean to judge ppl but I don't know how y'all be paying for all these subscriptions thing what u need an Amazon Prime and apple card for queen ? thing

That's that happens. The balance gets out of control and it makes it hard to pay. I let my credit card go and got sued by Discover for my balance because I couldn't pay the balance any more. I just paid it off two months ago! It was 10k and it was garnished out of my paycheck per week (about $200 every week). Whew I'm so glad it over. It was my pandemic credit card, for the record.

If I do something like that now, I try to look for affirm or PayPal pay in 4 type of financing.

I definitely am going to be better in the future and encourage you to as well, so you don't have the same garnishment thing I had to go through. Pay what you can, or reach out to them for a payment plan if you can't pay it off immediately. Tell them you're going through a financial hardship or something right now (even if it's a lie)

1,000 or 10,000?

Could be worse - I once had $30k credit card debt I got sued for. Took years to pay off.

I buy 90% of my stuff on Amazon so I need it. The Apple Card isn't a subscription, it's just a regular credit card

I only ask because if your payment is 600 each and you only owe 2k then you'll be paid off in two months rip

I don't understand how can you guys be ok with so much debt like that? It gives me anxiety when I owe the bank more than $500. Of If I don't have the money I rather just save for it. Or figure out how to earn more.

This. Literally the only reason I have cards is to have a credit history, but I never spend more than I have on my checking.

lowkey agree... life is already hard enough, the last thing my stress levels need is to pay unnecessary interest on consumer debt i've accrued

mariah2003.thumb.gif.14076bc737526b6918e

it's very common, though. i have a friend who has over $100k in student loans from college and she dropped out after 2 years. rip and i have other friends who are open about being $20k-40k in cc debt.

Trust me, no one is ever OK about having credit card debt. Life happens. You live, you learn.

OP: $2k honestly isn't that much compared to the American average. (Assuming you're American) Get on a payment plan or knock it out in a few months and keep it moving.

I had a manic episode as the result of a antidepressant that was terrible for me. But I discovered Shop pay in installments and now I have 10 new perfumes and a 200$ bill every month for a year. I also got some new le cruset cast iron sets.

anyway I wish someone could figure out how to get financial aid for medical induced manic episodes
