I was listening to Michael Jackson's Bad album and am still amazed at how many hits that album has. 8 top 10s, six #1s. And then I thought "well, what if it was released in the streaming era?" and that would cut the hits down to two or three max.

Which brings me to Mayhem. Yes, I think Mayhem is a comparable album to Bad in that it's all about the hits. And it saddens me that Mayhem is indeed cut short due to the industry right now, low-key mad with Gaga that she waited to deliver a hits-filled album in an era where post-album singles are almost dead. Look at this:

Abracadabra - Bad

Vanish Into You - The Way You Make Me Feel

How Bad Do You Want Me - Man in the Mirror

Zombieboy - Dirty Diana

Shadow of a Man - Smooth Criminal

Her stats would be bigger, the GP would know these gems. Instead, while not going to waste per say, those Gaga songs will remain only known to us, the fans. A shame. Oh well. At least we've got a Top 3 album in her discography.

she's been on a huge sold out world tour. People have heard those songs. Whether they revisit them or not is up to them, but they're exposed.
