Why'd that other pop star with the bomb "concept" album get so pressed about Gaga's win? It was very clearly hers to lose from Day 1, and others (like Sabrina) looked more than mentally prepared to just attend and celebrate the music.

Sometimes you win, sometimes you don't. Welcome to awards.

There's a rumor that it's more about her past affair with Andrew.

going back to when someone said Gaga lacks voter support from non-pop/jazz/rock voters, what artists from other genres would you all like to see her collab with for a future general field win? i'm curious matty

Kendrick for sure. What happened with BDKMV is still heartbreaking.

The thing about blocs is that people overrate the extent to which all voters in a specific genre will rally behind one artist. In the early surveys on GoldDerby (which ended up being more accurate than the blind ballots hihi) a lot of unexpected blocs (ie rock, alt) were going for people like Kendrick, for example. Gaga's biggest weakness there wasn't necessarily with one genre, but the fact that nearly everyone supporting her was 35+, with nearly all Gen Z going for Sabrina, Benito, Kendrick, Tyler. I don't know who she could collab with to remedy that, but yes maybe less HACery and collabing with octogenarians is in order

Thinking about how GoldDerby said Sabrina would get country votes due to the Dolly collab and slight country-pop influence and she didn't even end up having pop support

She never posts her best Grammy performances on YouTube, only that embarrassing pitchy jazz cover

A DWAS-sized hit

When Godga releases a collab album with 12 features, all the songs go #1 and her haters implode

Grammy voters don't go by the feelings of who they like. It's judged by metrics, the quality of the album, the vocals, production, composition etc. Gaga delivered vocally, but that level of compressed, saturated production was never going to win against its competitors. Gaga needs to stop trying to play it basic and safe like this and Chromatica as well, where the sound doesn't have any dynamics or impact. It ages terribly, and that's why her early dance classics like PF, BR, JD will always be more remembered and her most daily streamed. Songs like ROM and Abracadabra lack the heavy, punchy beats and pop offs that her first album delivers

How can something be compressed AND saturated at the same time? Don't get it.

Pop Vocal Album isn't an award for vocal performance, it's an award for the album as a whole; anyone who produced over half the album is also credited, so yes the majority of Grammy voters did think that "compressed, saturated production" was the best in that category

It's the ghost of ARTPOOP that haunts THEYTHEM's production- it could mean anything
