I've heard recently of every 2nd album being somewhat of a transition period, it's not really the case for Gaga pre ARTPOP but Joanne was a transition to ASIB and Chromatica a transition to MAYHEM. So I'm guessing the next album response will be a bit more muted, but can still see great success like the previous transition albums. I can see Gaga's next album moving away from mainstream pop, further experimentation. She's spoken about her craft and going deeper into her artistry and now it seems she's playing around with a lot synths. She is a pop star at the end of the day so I don't want her to go to far to the left, I think she's striked the perfect balance her entire career and realistically all you need is an undeniable lead single and then she can experiment as much as she likes on the album tracks.

I'm fine with 0 collabs but at the same time I'm sick of this narrative being spun on her.. It shouldn't even be a topic of discussion. When you look at a Beyonce album she had like 10 features on CC or Rihanna, Ariana even Taylor has a lot of features so I'm also fine with her having a bunch of collabs as well, 3 good ones like Chromatica would be nice.

idk.. i have a feeling if someone doesn't make it onto the record, and especially if they express saltiness about it, it kinda leans into what gaga always preaches about studio etiquette and being a woman in a room full of men.

maybe he wasn't the easiest to work with for her during that period. we also know she had at least one active psychosis during that time, and without sounding even more parasocial than i already am, i can only relate to the feeling of letting things and people go in peace if they belong to a trying time in my life.

Now they're claiming monsters are tweeting racist and xenophobic stuff about Bad Bunny, when the vast majority of us are just thirsting over him and thinking he deserved the win

As I've said before and will say again, the Beyhive is just the most insecure fanbase in this whole universe. Anytime another pop star gets praise or wins something, they can't handle it and start pushing these little 'gotcha' narratives. But the thing is, it doesn't work anymore. Gaga's way too respected now, and they know they can't clown her talent (like they do to Swifties), so they just make stuff up to drag her. And of course, only jealous or dumb stans buy into it. That account loves to shade artists who feel like a threat to Bey, like Shakira or Rihanna.

As a Billie stan and a Gaga fan, I don't think Billie was ever shady to Gaga tbh. The only kinda negative moment I remember is when she said "yikes" about the meat dress in an interview. Billie's been vegetarian since birth and vegan since she was 12, so that reaction makes sense. Plus she was super young back then, and a lot of people didn't even get the message behind the dress at the time. That's literally the only moment I can think of. Unless I missed something, I really don't remember her being shady to Gaga at all.

Something I've always wondered about Gaga is that she always talks about how hard it is to find male producers who respect her as a musician but seemingly never works with other females. Surely 2 decades into her career it wouldn't be hard at all to find female musicians she could collaborate and build an entire body of work with if she wanted

Since the Mayhem Ball is still on the road for +2 months Gaga should release Vanish Into You as the final single and then release Requiem Film after the last show.

Yeah that convo about working with male artists is a bit strange considering she has all the resources to also work with female songwriters and producers (or directors). One of her best collaborators in ages is Parris.

I've always gotten the impression that maybe she just enjoys the challenge of working and proving her worth as a female producer alongside other men idk. And I could be totally wrong here, but her PTSD stemming from horrific experiences in her early career with predatory men in the studio might also create really complicated, rebellious feelings where she feels like she needs to be "The Boss" in that kinda environment to reclaim agency and autonomy after years of mental and emotional scarring.

But yeah, she can and does often create brilliant stuff with female collaborators. Not just Parris but also Tana Muino (Disease), Bethany Vergas (Abra), even LAG and Melina Metsoukas (JD, BDR) back in the day.

I'm not really seeing it happening tbh. She's already shifting her sound, almost like it's a bridge to her next project. Releasing a closing single would kind of contradict the process she began to make with Abracadabra and MAYHEM as a whole with "Requiem".

Yeah, releasing a new single now makes no sense unless a song goes viral, and even then, I doubt she'd record a new music video for it. There's no metaphorical gas in tank left in Mayhem; it's moving into recurrent territory. Even the underwhelming Grammy boost shows this. It did incredible and what it did to do, but I don't think it has much potential left.

I'm much more excited for her moving into next era anyways. Kinda not that interested in Prada song because soundtrack songs are usually very hit and miss and the song is probably a Mayhem B-side since it was recorded so long ago.
