Just realized Jay Z is doing this major 30 anniversary campaign with shows, re-releases and a possible new album and his wife will also be celebrating a 30th anniversary soon and i fully expect her to do nothing about it.

i had this thought when i saw that he released 4:44 on vinyl for the first time as an exclusive of that $1500 vinyl set rip

a repressing of all of her albums on vinyl is all i want so i can finally own IASF, 4, and The Gift on vinyl to complete my collection. but knowing her she either will do something absurd like her husband did and force you to buy them all for an insane markup, or (more likely) just doesn't do anything at all deadbanana

1) I don't need to have any credentials to judge the CCT.

2) No, it's not, as I already said she's Beyoncé and not an average singer like Madonna and Janet. If you believe so, then you are the one devaluating Beyoncé's capabilities. Doing a few shows here and there and then disappearing for two years does not warrant this kind of treatment, since she's also not dancing much. There's no justification for lipping Protector (for example), no matter how you spin it.

3) Whitney continued to sing live even at her worst, and yes, she refused to lip-synch, just like my local singer.

4) Big screens and expensive props are literally what the most embarrassing "artists" like Taylor Swift provide at their show to compensate their lack of talent. Beyoncé doesn't need them. She's the "a mic and a mic" type of artist, which is ironic, since a few days ago the Deja Vu performance at BET awards was celebrated as one of the best in Bey's career by the same users in this base. It pains me to state such obvious things rip

5) It's pointless to make any criticism when there's an army of fans ready to justify everything she does. She knows it very well, which is why she does not care and therefore nothing will change.

1) Fair.

2) You're still missing the point of why I brought them up, I stated that very clearly in my last post. I brought them up because they built a career around singing and dancing onstage, I never talked about range or vocal capabilities. "Doing a few shows here and there and disappearing for two years" is an odd way to describe what she's doing and doesn't really account for her current lifestyle. The issue isn't whether she's Beyoncé, it's that no one, no matter how gifted, is immune to the cumulative wear of singing and dancing at that level for three decades. That doesn't automatically mean that she's lazy or that she doesn't care to ~serve *****~ anymore, it's reality, and she seems to have found a balance that allows her to keep performing at a very high level while maintaining a seemingly very healthy lifestyle.

3) This is where I'm really lost because "continuing to sing live even at her worst" is not the flex I assume you think it is. It then becomes a matter of you being able to flex that your fav ~sings live all the time~ instead of looking at things for what they are. Her voice changed, her body changed, and her stamina changed. She is aging. She openly said she no longer wants to push herself the way she did for Beychella and that she isn't trying to be who she was before. You're entitled not to love that approach, but she's been very clear about it. So, in my opinion, continuing to complain about it feels a bit redundant.

4) She doesn't need it, but the great thing is that she still does it and does it extremely well. She's selling out stadiums, so she's going to put on a stadium sized show. If she went the Adele route and did "mic and a light" shows on stadiums she wouldn't sell them out, because that's not her brand. Ironically, a Las Vegas residency would've been the perfect opportunity for a more stripped-back, vocal-focused show, and that's actually one of the many things I've disagreed with her on. Which brings me to my next point…

5) I don't think Beyoncé is perfect, and I'm not looking to justify everything she does, there have been many, many questionable decisions throughout this whole act rollout. But we can't dictate her career decisions, only she knows why she does certain things. I'd rather judge the end result than assume I know better than she does. And for me, the end result has still been phenomenal.

The lipsynching thing is the one area where I will not judge her. If you look at all the legends that lost their voice (Mariah, Whitney) or had to undergo procedures due to wear and tear (Prince, Madonna) or even straight up died because of addiction to painkillers (Prince, Michael) due to performance related injuries, you will see Beyoncé is being extremely smart about taking care of her voice and body. Remember, she already had her own injury and clearly doesn't want to put any more undue strain on her body. Ironically, she's doing it for herself and for us because she wants to be able to keep performing at a high level for decades to come. Remember, the only icon that maintained her voice (Celine, in spite of her unfortunate diagnosis) also does a pretty significant amount of lipsynching.

I think people misconstrue maintaining vocal health as "don't do anything too hard on your voice" when it's really "Don't do too much with the voice" (these mean different things)

Saying things like "she's not even singing songs in her range live" and "there were no F5s" is the kind of expectation that leads to vocal fatigue, especially in a 3 hour show. Just because someone can still vocally do certain things, doesn't mean they should. Ya ya is probably doing the most amount of damage vocally so after singing that early in the show, she needs to take a break, this is just how the human body works and i don't think people who've never studied music (specifically voice) understand what it actually takes to be singing as well (and as elastic) as Beyonce sings after a 26 year professional singing career.

This is not the first time I see someone insinuating this… and I feel people are already setting themselves up for disappointment. Beyoncé still has commercial viability and it's mostly why she avoids the past (greatest hits tours, reeditions, part ii's of successful past works…). She's not gonna remind people she's been around for 30 years until that's the only thing left for her, which won't probably the case for another 10 years. michael

I went to Vegas and saw they were building a gigantic Hard Rock guitar in the center of the strip, my first thought was residency right there. I also went to Toucanne's costume exhibit and recognized most of them, the meat dress also had me a little gagged. This is what this lady's hiatus is doing to me..

I love most of yall but amma need y'all to slow down on the she is Lip-syncing for vocal preservation convo real quick.

Mariah over-sang, thus developing vocal nodules...

Whitney lost her voice due to drug addiction and poor lifestyle...

Celine briefly lost her voice for a bit due to that chronic illness she had but MAJORITY of her career she never lipped.

Aretha, Patti Labelle, Stevie Wonder, Barbara Streisand,Tina Turner even Dionne Warwick never lipped from they were young till they were old. Even foghorn Xtina restored her vocals after years of straining and poor technique, I could go on.....

Most the people you listed never did any kind of choreography. Singing and dancing is a whole other league, especially while Bey keeps it vocally challenging.

Its not physically possibility to sing and dance 3 hours straight. The fact she still sound amazing live when the mic is on and keeps it seamless still makes it impressive.

I personally don't care if she lips here and there. I just need her to bend her knees.

I'm not a fan of the choreography post-2022 like I actually hate it. I'd take hooting and hollering, audience interaction during Ya Ya than whatever she does for the majority of the tour.

Tina and Patti did a whole lot of theatrics on stage, which is physically demanding and still sang live.

While I know Bey does it, there is no excuse for us to encourage it. Also Miss @Teezy you disliked my post as if I was saying anything negative or unreasonable, so you're a Lip Sync Hive now?

I have accepted that post 2022 she is preserving her health by minimising the exertion she usually does in her performances. For the exorbitant investment that fans make to attend her tours, it's inexcusable for her to lip-sync and rely on theatrics and productions to satisfy attendees. So I am fine with less choreo and more vocals. I guess I am Live Vocals Hive michael

I still lowkey blame OTR 1 and 2 for what we got in RWT and CCT

I think CCT took it to another level with the theatrics and storytelling.. it was almost like a play for the cameras and I think she's always conscious to hit her cue with so many things going on. Post-2022 felt like a blockbuster immersive experience unlike any other of her tours and she kind of played into that being the only visuals to represent the eras. I think the FWT was the best middle ground for everything. Her presence was unmatched, the monolith didn't overshadow her.. it only enhanced her as the focal point. To me that felt like more of a live concert than the cinematic spectacle she puts on nowadays (even though FWT was also that), I don't know how to explain it. But I love them all for different reasons.

The fact that kiss ass hive is out here downvoting ppl bc they don't wanna see their favorite artist lip sync to a song like Protector ahh

She was literally flying around, popping up in different countries to support CC. This doesn't include the possible meetings regarding the album, merch, and tour prep. She's a mother in her 40s, not a single woman in her 20s.

she did one travel to japan not for cc, but was there for jay z business and decided that would be funny to promote a country album on an asian country where she hasnt done a tour since 2009
