Being featured on Taylor's lead single because I don't even think Madonna feat. Taylor would do the trick.

Madonna hasn't released new music on a Friday in a while. Medellin, while a collab, had zero chance to chart due to it having the biggest bulk of her points split in two weeks. If there's enough interest and the song is DECENT, it will be a top 90 :WAP:

Convince Billboard to remove radio, streaming and sales from the chart.ย

Follow Elton John's playbook:

ย

1. Do a collab with a younger, up-and-coming artist (like Cold Heart), and hope it climbs enough on radio.

ย

2. Do a Christmas song (like Merry Christmas f/Ed Sheeran).

Nothing. She doesn't need one or even needs to enter the charts.ย

It would be nice, but I don't think it's realistically possible specially because of ageism. Radios won't support her anymore, as we all know. She had a lot of problems with radios during her career and after American Life, she is blocked forever. Imagine now, with Trump and conservatives being on charge of every thing... there's no chance. The music industry will make money rain on newer artists that the youngers will mass consume, cause that's where the money comes easily, so she won't have strong playlists supports and nothing like that. Saddly, the younger generations are not interest on Madonna. Some of them can discover her greatness through internet and, of course, can be stans, but they have their own idols right now, who they can relate with their problems and experiences. So, for Madonna, the alternative is the loyalty of her fanbase, which will probably secure a great album sales, and that's it. It will be a big win if she had a new #1 album.

In the end of the day, Madonna has nothing to prove. She is the biggest legend ever.

If Madonna put out a song as good as Hung Up again that did *not* sound like a retread of her earlier work and was sonically out of left field...honestly...?...I could see her having a hit. I don't know about a #1, but I wouldn't count Madonna out.ย

ย

The problem with her since 2008 has been the quality of the singles. Realistically speaking, GMAYL, Living for Love, and Medellin don't hold a candle to her earlier work. I played I'm Addicted for one of my casual Madonna fan friends the other night, and he "couldn't believe MDNA actually had good songs". The singles have been a horrible representation of the albums for a while now, barring Ghosttown (though a painfully generic One Republic-sounding song) and God Control (though even that is kinda....whatever).

ย

Madonna is in unchartered territory as a popstar now and is arguably the first almost-70 year old popstar that *anyone* is checking for when it comes to new work. She's been operating in her own stratosphere for a while now where there aren't rules for popstars her age. If anyone could have an actual mainstream music comeback, it would be her.

We'll see.

Aside from the ageism, US and UK radio are still loaded with that mix of sexism + ageism. some stations even cut her part out ofย Popular. they won't let her chart with singles on the big hit stations

ย

It really started with the boycott afterย American Life. US radio basically refused to playlist her because she spoke out against the Iraq War.ย Hung Upย was No. 1 everywhere else and still climbed into the US top 10 on sales alone without any radio support.ย Iย don't think some of youย realise how huge that is.. but it shows she's had a heard time for years.

Why would Madonna care about a solo #1 hit on the BB Hot 100 in the year 2025? She's a legend and she already has like 10 or even more.ย

Madonna hasn't a solo hit in over 20 years. She will never get another 1. She needs a collabo with someone like Taylor or Xtina to get another hit in general.

She already has what, 12? All of them solo. Some girls only have 2, let's worry about thatย :gaycat2:
