We've seen how Miley's shift in sonic direction has hurt her brand and the same has happened to other artists too.
So this is one of the reasons why so many artists stay in one sonic lane-genre mostly* they dont wanna lose or have their audiences all confused

Beyoncé, on the other hand, has been doing it seamlessly in recent years. Morphin and Morphin 




She's gone from experimental music (Lemonade+Self Titled)
to hip-hop (Everything is Love)
to pure Afrobeat and African-World music (The Gift)
to house and club disco sounds (Renaissance)
To country western style (Cowboy Carter) and there's a chance the next one will be rock


I'm honestly impressed by how, despite all these genre shifts, she still has such a loyal fanbase buying her music.
She has great sales and nr1's and crazily successful tours and big awards

Do you think other pop artists could make these kinds of jumps, or is it something only Beyoncé can pull off perfectly?
Gaga did it for some time but in the last years she went back to Pop

Because she does it so masterfully each and every time.  We (her fans) trust her creative instinct and know she will deliver.

I mean she's been building and solidifying her base of support since 1997 with the first half being pretty much safer stuff, which created the room for experimentation, and she's been doing the shifts excellently.

This! The base and foundation is critical, that's why the Matthew years were necessary and immensely helpful to get her to the freedom she can explore now.

Because Beyoncé has undeniable, raw talent and that's it.

 

She's similar to other MPGs like Ariana and Gaga, who will always stay relevant and keep strong fanbases because of their strong talent alone. Even if they face setbacks, artists like them always bounce back.

Because she can do anything. She can release an extreme metal album next and she will still do it well and serve quality because of her love and dedication to her craft. She's just that good.

 

Also no offence to Miley because I do like her and think she's very talented, but Beyoncé has never and will never allow herself to become a public laughing stock the way Miley has in the past (see Bangerz era). Her shenanigans over the years have probably hurt her brand more than the musical shifts.

Because they stan her for her image and fame, not her music. look at the streams...

She cares more about the final product (song) matching her vision than how to get there on her own, which results in her being unafraid to reach out to genre experts and co-writers. Because of her fearlessness, we receive albums mixing Estate-Sale Family Heirlooms and less-personal Restoration Hardware-level pieces in an industry forcing itself to celebrate DIY, cheap, Allen-wrench-constructed IKEA furniture because it sells units.

Because she's organic and flawlessly transitions to other genres to make a point unlike other pop girls who are so obviously fake and change their image and sound to chase Oscars and awards .
