  1. Julie Andrews. The Sound of Music, Mary Poppins, Princess Diaries, etc. are all globally iconic across every generation. Celine Dion is unfortunately made fun of by pretentious pop music-haters who drag her music.
  2. Batman should be gay too tbh, he pretends to like p*ssy/Catwoman but we all know what he is
  3. People frothing at the mouth in here but I'm sure they had no problem spamming that unfunny AI-generated Michael Jackson gif in every single thread for months
  4. Barbie because movies are more accessible to the GP than tours in general and Barbie was also tied to Barbenheimer which had broader appeal across more demographics. But Taylor Swift as a celebrity in general was the bigger phenomenon if you include all her other 2023-2024 achievements in addition to Eras.
  5. It was fun but unfortunately it's hard for me to believe in spirit/soul/higher consciousness/universal consciousness/afterlife stuff the older I get and it sucks. It's hard to believe in anything except that our concept of "I" or "me" is literally just based on our memories and experiences and our entire "consciousness" is just the brain. I could lose all my memories tomorrow and I wouldn't be "me" to myself anymore but I'd still be "me" to others who have their memories of me intact. And vice versa. Little things like that. Ugh.
  6. We need her Birthday/This Is How We Do/Rise/etc. first
  7. RIP She'll always be a part of 2000s kids' childhoods
  8. People dragging that and the Tangled bts pics/video feels like mental illness to me like of course they look amateurish they're still only just filming? But the fact that they're really milking the Beatlemaniacs with a four-parter in this economy is fine to drag like does anyone actually give a *** about a Ringo movie
  9. Is nobody in this entire thread gonna mention that even in that video that guy is dancing around alone with a little white boy?
  10. Not me thinking her character Mitchie scored 67 #1 hits or something ala Mitchiemania
  11. Aww, here's your cookie
  12. Reminder that aside from being a POS abuser, wife beater and child beater, he's also a pedo who dated minors when he was in his mid twenties
  13. Always posting the numbers and success and praises of their fave OR the drags or flops of other fanbases' faves but never posting any opinions about the actual content and work of their fave and it's like... huh

Is this the part where we're supposed to care about that breakup as if that MAGA girl is some noteworthy "celebrity" and not a faceless industry plant
  15. I don't have a "fave" but this is my fave song about fame or money, a timeless bop
  16. I don't think she's MAGA, or at least I hope so, but it's just kinda disheartening that she used to be so vocal about being anti-MAGA up until Trump won then it's just crickets from her. Just that complete switch. Then you have that ICE contractor at her wedding.
  17. I feel nauseous just reading descriptions of it in this thread I hope the children are safe, they don't deserve this

It actually just hit me like why was Ariana in that donut shop in the first place back in 2015 if she was just gonna spew vitriol and disgust the moment she sees them laid out in front of her and be like "I hate this, so fat, I hate America" I fear it's been going on for far longer than anyone thinks, maybe even during the Nickelodeon days that the petal video might be referencing
  20. Madonna was already a fully grown woman with a developed frontal lobe and a more formed personality when she achieved fame at 25 unlike Taylor, Ariana, etc. who were literal children below 18 years old when they achieved theirs. And even then, not everyone has the same personality or mental fortitude. To add to that, social media wasn't around then and she wasn't required to promote on social media or engage with fans on social media which is a very different thing from controlled fan interactions in the 80s and 90s. Mental health was not widely accepted and talked about in those times and I'm sure artists back then would've been a lot more open about their struggles in a similar way current stars are doing it if the public wouldn't ostracize them or call them "crazy" at the time. People are more parasocial now precisely cause of the false "intimacy" and accessibility social media gives the GP with stars. Generally, the bulk of criticism Madonna got was about her work. The "outrageous" performances, the sexiness, the controversial music videos, and so on. If anything, it benefitted her and she lived for it and she should cause look at how she changed culture. But she could step out of the Madonna public persona at home and the haters would be left at the door. Stars today literally get dragged and scrutinized for a mere follow or unfollow. People now get PERSONAL personal. Madonna is strong, respectable, and impressive, yes. But she's the exception, not the rule. Expecting every pop star, especially female ones who get a lot more scrutinized and hated unlike male counterparts, to follow her example would be unfair. Why aren't there threads or discussions about MALE pop stars whining about fame vs older male stars?
  21. Not actively but I've stanned a foreign song (which was a streaming hit) that I had no idea was AI until I read about it in the news. I gradually lost interest in the song anyway but it's scary how it's become hard to detect.
  22. TikTok would still be what it is today but its rise would've been more gradual and slower. But yeah idk where Taylor would be right now but her re-recordings would still be successful even without folklore. Honestly I think things would still be pretty much the same? Covid just accelerated whatever was already simmering in 2019. What's more interesting is what the movie and blockbuster landscape would have been because that required actual physical presence and habits that Covid disrupted unlike music streaming. The Way of Water or No Way Home would have probably outgrossed Avatar 1 worldwide or The Force Awakens domestic, respectively. We would have had more $2B grossers like Barbie perhaps. Things like Encanto would have reached $700M-1B. Though oversaturation from Disney+ shows and bad quality would've still made the MCU decline and people still would have checked out after Endgame cause they leaned too much into the finale factor and made the GP think the MCU itself is finished except for Spider-Man and a few other A-List Infinity Saga heroes still alive.
