I've had this problem with Melodrama since its release but I've been too scared to share my views online incase people attack me but idc I'll say it.

Don't get me wrong, Melodrama as an album is a masterpiece in its own right, but it is extremely hard for me to revisit this album because of the 1-2 minute outro fades certain songs have. I typically love looping through my favourite songs for hours on end, so the fades truly ruin the experience for me. My favourite songs like The Louvre and Supercut I cannot listen through on repeat even if I want to because the outro fades are just way too long. 

Does anyone else feel this way at all? Or am I completely alone on this?

The outros are essential to the songs. Get caught up in the vibe. Sit with your feelings.

 

 

I get it. I always felt like the album had bad pacing and it feels like you're listening to a 2 hour album when it's only 40 minutes long. Pure Heroine's pacing is so good and it's such an easy album to listen to. But Melodrama is such a classic record.

for the first time she did the OPPOSITE of this too and then also got attacked by ATRL gays for MOTY "not having a long enough outro"..... she really can't win here

Supercut outro is supposed to make you ponder, make you FEEL sis

 

Hard Feelings should have been one track, Loveless should have been one track. I always have to skip once Loveless hits, sorry 

Yes it is an album that demands attention, and rightly so because it tells a story.

I can listen to a literal white noise if it's in the album and say "wow she really went there"

No OP needs a constant stream of

noise and words or else they fear what the quiet of at most 40 seconds brings in 

The end of The Louvre sounds like sunsets on the beach.

 

The end of Supercut sounds like the camera panning out from a still face after a series of "supercuts" of that person's life.

 

Love them.

I get this tbh and she probably could have shaved a little off of Supercut because that outro literally makes up 1/3 of the song's runtime, but I appreciate that the outros kinda let you reflect on your journey both in that song and in the overall album up to that point. The Louvre outro especially is nice in the regard because the song is on the heels of 3 uptempos and feels like one of the first moments you really get to breath. 

 

For me the really disappointing outro is Loveless, where you can hear it start to fade out when there's still almost a full minute left. Don't even feel like reflecting on the song because I'm just sitting there desperately hoping for more while the song is being pulled away from me. 

Music is not made with the objective of being replayed, that is a concept of capitalism only.

 

Melodrama is not really good anyway.

Ironically, the outros are the best part of both songs. 

The problem is that it's boring  and highly overrated
