At the time when both albums were released; the EDM generic pop music craze was happening in the States, but then Adele and Lana released "21" and "BTD" then the Alt. Pop girlies trying to cash in Lana's success and Ballad Singer-Songwriters trying to cash in on Adele's success

Again: the two questions ask the same thing -.-

I admit I haven't listened to an Adele album in full but her music always came across too "old" for me. Like music for soccer moms.

Both are among my fave albums of the past 15 years but 21 is still ahead for me, the single still hit hard and same for many of the album tracks.

Born To Die by light years.

I listen to BTD more than 21, but the songs on 21 are timeless, whereas a lot of BTD is dated (complimentary)

Born To Die reshaped modern music as we know it.  21 is a cute album, but it's mainly for Gladys and Susan down the street.

I prefer BTD. The influence that Album has is insane 

The fact that 21 kept BTD from hitting #1, nasty work. 21 is just a huge success of an album, while BTD is a one of a kind influential body of work

21 is one of my favourite albums ever so it gets my vote. Born to Die is good as well but Lana has better IMO.

21 for me.

21 feels more iconic to me simply for its sheer commercial enormity, but BTD really felt like a cultural reset at the time. This part of the question could go either way tbh.
