The absolutely embarrassing lengths some people go to to prove Midnights is frontloaded or a flop (both objective lies) just bc they're mad Jack produced it, just to defend reputation (her most frontloaded album ever) in the same post

Why do people engage with artists they don't like . I couldn't imagine camping in a Bieber thread and keeping up with his every move... I just ignore him We must pray for the victims of Taylor Swift

Also, while Midnights' US BB200 stats do obliterate reputation, I see no one has pulled up a global comparison of rep vs. Mid yet. Like, just a cute reminder we are being more than generous by not doing a comparison of each album's first 19 weeks anywhere outside the US. If we did, well... did rep even make it to 19 weeks in half of the countries with charts?

And it's not as if Jack didn't also produce half of Reputation as well:deadbanana4:

The response to this will be "it was before he started recycling and being unoriginal" as if the most beloved song on that album isn't just a 2.0 of OOTW, which was then succeeded (also in terms of recognition and success) by a 3.0 re-up on Lover

Puta stans being the biggest Jack haters (even before Midnights) when he was the saving grace of their favorite album will never not be hilarious to me…

Anti hero is probably her biggest global hit ever. I mean during the first frame of release.

Of course songs like love story, blank space or others now are kind of cult hits everywhere since she's became a global act.

But anti hero has been an hit in all her core markets (north america, Uk, australia, asia etc,,) plus biggest than shake it off or blank space in continental europe or south america.

Huh... maybe Reputation is Taylor's most local album. I always thought it was Mixtape but these results are pretty damning

LMAO thanks so much for this. I wanted to do something similar but was far too lazy

Middy has probs spent more weeks in the top 10 in most European countries than weeks reputation spent on their album charts as a whole, like…

This is actually true, and if she bothers to go to a lot of countries in tour it could become her biggest hit worldwide by a comfortable margin. With that said though, I think BS and SIO would be ahead if they weren’t pulled from Spotify. SIO was performing better than AH is, but plummeted from most charts immediately upon removal.

Still though, when it’s all said and done it’s going to have her best chart runs globally in terms of singles, context not withstanding.

It will be interesting to see if AH doing so well globally will result in her next lead single (assuming it’s alongside a proper/big scale release and not FolkMore’d) being even bigger. Midnights in general has upped her global presence so much, it could definitely set her up nicely next go around if she strikes at the right time.

Edited by Holiest Dreams

I think Jack produced some amazing songs for her especially on 19katy9/Puta/folklore. Jack also produced some absolute snoozes and turds on MIDnights. Both can be true
Anyways i just want a new producer, everything they do is blending together at this point.. his instrumentals on MID just sound like elevator background music.. where is the flavor
Makes me sad that the success will probably mean another full album of uninspired music by them.. when in reality she could have released anything and it would have debuted with 1M+.. we literally got ZERO music before release so its not like ppl preordered the album for the music

Friendly reminder that two Jack songs ENDED her pop radio dominance on radio: OOTW and LWYMMD. New Romantics did better on HAC and AC and that tells a lot about MR Antonoff production skills. Thank god for Delicate for being a SMASH and DBM for being a CLASSIC. Can't wait for DBM to start outstreaming LH. We still haven't had an eloquent explanation why DBM a dated song is outstreaming EVERY album track on Skidnights and doing almost the same as LH without TTH.

Reputation top 100 on AM USA - which is more organic than Spotify.

Playlist exposure:

Reputation - 69m

Lover - 140m

Numbers via https://app.chartmetric.com/album?id=3452248

Reputation is simply way more organic than Lover.

AH is absolutely not bigger than SIO or BS or IKYWT in European market...

For Midnights stans being bigger means that is better I guess. The way they probably think that Skid is better than folkmore. Truly no words.:ahh:

arguing over her albums is such a waste of energy. Just stream folkmore instead :giraffe:

Btw, what makes AM USA more organic than Spotify exactly?

And both the GP and critics agree that Reputation is her worst pop album though :michael:

BB200 (GP) (not counting the dozens of other countries)

#3. Midnights

#41. Lover

#50. 1989

#58. Lover (Live From Paris)

#100. Reputation

Metacritic (Critics)

Midnights - 85

Lover - 79
1989 - 76 (pre-poptimism)

Reputation - 71 (post-poptimism)

Having one song doing great (DBM) doesn't make Reputation a better album.

LWYMMD despite being frontloaded as hell is generally known here plus Gorgeous was a cute radio hit back than and DBM literally went mega viral all over Europe. :bird:

oh come on that wasnt post-poptimism.. especially when lots of reviews were focusing on her persona and not actually talking about the music :snowman:
Some reviewers were even exposed as OTH :snowman: Would it have a 90 or sth? no probably not. But it definitely would be higher if it was released in 2019+
I mean just look at Loser :toofunny2:
And again it will be interesting to see MID's chart position in 2028.

Everyone knows Spotify is more payola carried than AM. When reputation was released her image was divisive as hell and those points don't reflect its popularity.:bird:

Anyways leaving this base until touring starts. The majority of you are incapable of understanding that a full POP album produced by Jack  was simply not it and she needs some fresh producers but I guess you aren't ready for that conversation.
