Miley might be my favorite artist at the moment tbh. She's so versatile, her personality is to die for, she's always VERY authentic and none of that pretentious **** that other female popstars do, and

I loved her podcast so much but I hated the people who run it, they kept interrupting her and rushing her.

When she started talking about Lindsay, he was like ok let's get over this.

She has such questionable taste :dies:

Eh this isn't true, that user made that up for engagement. Those were just some of the songs they talked about in the podcast that she said she loved... which she also said about other songs of the albums so yeah she never said those are her favorites off each album.

I really loved the podcast! it was so fun revisiting the eras and her being candid about how much she hates playing the marketing game. it's clear she doesn't give a single **** about having a hit song anymore and it sounds like she might even prefer to flop so she doesn't have to do promo :rip:

Pretend You're God kinda the SOTY omfg.

You're NOT wrong I fear - deserves a Grammy

Predicted to debut at #3 now 600 copies behind Happy Burstday by seventeen which has appeared out of nowhere.

Still close with Taylor and Sza so could still debut at #5

Walk Of Fame being one of her best songs… where is the press where is the media?

She would have managed #1 in the UK and #2 had her team restocked signed copies or done some discount like most record labels seem to do when in a chart battle.

TBH, I've only listened so far to "End of the World" when she released the video. Since she put all those basic press releases on her social media, I simply haven't had a single ounce of willingness to press play on her new music. That stuff threw me off really hard.

Yesterday, I heard the "Every Single Album" podcast and really connected again with her persona, and it got me interested in hearing the album. This morning I finally did it, and it's a great body of work. It's the most cohesive one she has done to date. Unfortunately, Dolly was right, and there are no hits on this one. After a couple of months, she should regroup and put new stuff out. Or, if she decides to tour, some of the songs like "Pretend You're God" could become streaming hits.

Miley finally decided to leave her house this era & do some promo but is not working :cries:

Riseee Golden Burning Sun :clap3:

I fear we're at a point where Miley's lack of touring has become detrimental to her career. Every time the GP/local fans have anything to say, they are asking for her to perform. We saw this at the Film Festival last night and also at Jimmy Kimmel when the fan in the audience asked her for a "Bangerz Tour 2.0" :rip:

IMO the demand for a tour outweighs the demand for her new music. It's in Miley's best interest to satisfy this demand and give the GP a chance to truly re-connect with her. Touring is a huge part of the fan experience nowadays and she's losing out on a ton of momentum by ignoring it.

Hopefully Miley's team can figure out a way to perform without compromising her vocal health. Even just a few "One Night Only" concerts in NYC/LA/Chicago/Nashville would do BIG things for her rn.

I didn't like the album so I'm just not gonna comment. :deadbanana: But I agree that this era is a cumulation of many mistakes over the past decade, just like Flowers was the cumulation of many smart decisions.

Her album debuted almost half of Addison Rae which means there's absolutely no presence of an opinion on her anymore and people have tuned out (which while bad, it also means she can take control of it if she wants to).

Obviously she needs to tour, but doing it now means she'd have to do a nostalgia/legacy tour which makes her feel aged out. I'd rather her focus on building a social presence and funneling that into a comeback that can allow her to tour whatever her current album is without resentment.

Miley pretends to not care about success, but  she always craves validation and success is part of it. This is a wake up call for her yet again that things to change if she wants to turn things around and I'm hoping she does.

Otherwise, it is what it is. :deadbanana:

The GP need to realise the world doesn't revolve around them. Miley doesn't owe them anything.

To be fair she was in a worse state 2015-2019 then spawned 3 moderate hits in 2020 from Plastic Hearts (Angels Like You being a sleeper 1 billion streams non-single); this album unlike her previous ones just has no personal narrative which is completely her decision. Not to mention, she's already directly said this album is her way of winding down and that she will never put this much pressure on herself to promote ever again. Let's remember while she's in her early 30s, she's been performing and releasing music since 14...

Yeah part of why Flowers was also so big was that she built great momentum from 2019-2022 during consecutive festival tours across the globe (United States, Europe, South America)

Wish she had done what Billie did with her album release and just play it in an arena with a bunch of fans. Like she wouldn't have even had to sing but just be her charismatic self that everyone loves
