This is not flamebait. I genuinely want to know why she hasn't won a single Grammy. All the new girls have won at least once or twice. Sabrina Carpenter, for instance, is what Katy was in the early 2010s, and she recently won two.

Tough competition and artists like Katy really needed poptimism to earn them any serious artistic cred and that only came in full swing after Katy's reign was over. Her best shots at winning were probably Best Pop Solo Performance for Wide Awake in 2013 and Best Pop Vocal Album for Prism in 2015.

Grammys are super politicized and biased

Many popular artists have not won 
many artists have won it undeservedly 
some have peed on it but still won
some kept attending/giving respect but never won

Its merely a political/power spectacle between labels and politicians etc
and has little to do with music

In the past couple of years, the Grammys has been awarding and valuing commercial success more and more. If she had the Teenage Dream/PRISM success in 2025, she definitely would've won something.

The Grammys are intended to recognize musical talent 

 

 But she did win a Nickelodeon Award! 
 

this has been discussed to death, she lost most of her nominations to obvious, more deserving winners

For the same reason Spice Girls or Backstreet Boys never got one.

Tbf it's alot more easier for the new girls to win Grammys now because they've been trying their best to avoid backlash and please the audience in the last few years (which is why wins are so distributed among artists in the 2021-25 ceremonies)

 

Back when Katy was relevant they had more honor and wouldn't be swayed by any opinions outside their committees

She just wasn't a Grammy favorite. They didn't consider her big enough, and didn't respect her that much to give her the award against the likes of Adele, Gaga, Beyoncé, and revelations like Lorde and Sam Smith

And despite all of that word vomit, Katy still didn't and doesn't deserve a Grammy.  

The fact that she writes her own music and hasn't won anything while others who contribute one or two words have won dozens…. Doesn't make sense.

I dislike both but their talents and contribution to their music is undeniable. 

The Grammys saw right through her manufactured shallow attempts

 

Her competition and poptimism all had a say here. Even if poptimism happened in 2010 her rivals were Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Rihanna and Adele. Every time she released an album she had a better artist going up against her. In 2010 it was Gaga, in 2012 it was Adele, in 2013 it was Beyoncé and in 2017 it was Taylor.
