Except the shelf life of a woman is shorter than a man. The Mother of Korea (Uhm Jung Hwa) tell it best, in Korea a woman can have a big singing career in her 20's, once she hits 30 it's time to change field but still stay in the entertainment cause around 40-50 you become a legendary status.

Taeyeon is the father of Korea and she did just fine in her 30s.

This is not normal for them. Like any SM act, they usually promote for 2 weeks but the girls said they were only doing 1 week because they want to prepare for the tour.
