Wonyoung is a bigger celebrity than Karina imo. Karina was huge and everywhere last year from shows and her own group having a bigger year but in terms of impact Wonyoung has the edge. Her literally cultivating a huge lifestyle wave with Lucky Vicky and Wonyoungism is kinda proof of that. It reminds me of Hwasa and Jennie a few years back Hwasa kinda being everywhere music and variety wise but Jennie being a bigger trendsetter.

Uh, it's not 2022 anymore. Wonyoung is not omnipresent like she used to be. Karina is definitely more trendy atm since aespa has had smash after smash. Overall they're likely neck and neck in terms of GP recognition and overall trendiness. There's like no one in the GP that knows one and not the other.

If by home, you mean Korea, that's been the problem.

She has been able to promote in China freely since she is a U.S. citizen not Korean. The ban never affected her.

 

I don't see her seriously trying in Korea again (happy to be proven wrong though). Last time she tried, she attempted to book music shows + radio/TV appearances but everything was interfered/cancelled by the broadcasters

KARINA is clearly bigger at this point in time. She totally dominated Naver in every major category last year, above Wonyoung in 10s, 20s, 30s, 40s and overall.

 

Not to mention she's got the global ambassadorships/CFs to match, almost double the insta followers + her solo song went viral achieved RAK with a higher/faster ULs peak than IVE's recent comeback, even though it was rush released and unpromoted with no MV.
