This sounds like an awful idea specifically because the songs that still get referenced/covered like Coming of Age Ceremony and 10 Minutes would sweep and the rest of the top 20 would be filled out by me and my fellow sheep doing Boa payola. Familiarity bias would kill the rate before it started. 

 

Only way to avoid it and get people to actually listen to the material would be a very very tight song selection of mainly songs everybody should already know. Lump in Uhm Junghwa if you do it though. I'd submit in a hag rate regardless.

also releasing English songs or English version of the existing songs (smth almost every group does btw) and remixes is somehow the winning proof in this conversation now? Lol

Some of y'all will never live down your Twice hate-boners in this thread, and the fact that this whole fiasco started because some randos couldn't handle me praising Twice for achieving sold out stadiums in the west despite being a 9-membered group and their music always being kpop at the core. Well, the problem is that... many people these days wouldn't be able to name even one song by some of those artists, and they were huge back in the day. Jang Nara had pretty impressive sales, and she was an SM artist, and who talks about her now? My purpose here is more to educate, so I don't mind if something familiar and iconic wins as long as other songs are given a chance. I understand that it's a risky initiative, though I know some people outside of this thread who would be down for that. I can certainly pare down the songs to maybe 1 or 2 per artist, but it's also hard to reduce BoA's Korean discography, for example, to just 2 songs. Thank you for your feedback regardless!
